Beware of the deceptive trade practices of this company!!!We found a leak coming from our upstairs bathroom and contacted RT Olson Plumbing to make an emergency visit on a Sunday. We were told that the cost for the emergency visit was going to be $249, but we were not informed and was surprised by the additional fee of $1169.42 for the leak detection when the plumber showed up at our house, which came up to the total cost of $1418.43 for both leak detection service and emergency visit. Even though the companys website states that FREE ESTIMATE LEAK DETECTION. When their plumbers name ***************** came to our house, he turned on the shower and observed through the access panel for about 15 minutes, but he did not perform any kind of leak detection to find the leak. He then told us that the leak was not from the plumbing, it was from the bathtub. He spent the entire time convincing us to replace the bathtub. Their plumber pressured us into signing a contract to replace the entire bathtub for $7000. We ended up agreed to sign the contract and paid $1418.43 because it was a down payment for the bathtub replacement. We contacted the owner of RT Olson Plumbing *** Olson to cancel the contract on the 2nd day and asked to give us the refund of $1169.42 for leak detection fee because the plumber did not perform any leak detection and pressure test system and we didnt want to replace our bathtub he stopped responding to us. In the contract that we signed it states that we are allowed to cancel the contract within 3 business days. We were advised by the second company that the leak can be simply fixed by re-caulking along the gap of the bathtub. We did the re-caulking and the issue was resolved. RT Olson Plumbing is taking advantage of us and charging us an exorbitant amount in excess of what is allowed under the contract and pressuring us to sign an unnecessary contract to replace the bathtub that does not need to be replaced.Review from maha s

If I can give this plumbing company zero stars I would. I had a slab leak, and this company came out for leak detection. I was told that I have two leaks and they cut two lines. They were charging almost 65000 for rerouting two lines. My insurance company also brought their own plumbers and did their leak detection and they found only one leak. The adjuster called RT Olson a fraud company and he almost declined my claim. The insurance refused to fix the two cut lines. They only covered one line and I had to pay for the other line out of pocket. I asked RT Olson to fix the other line that he cut and was not leaking but he refuse to take responsibility. Then he send me an invoice for the leak detection and threatens me to take it to collection and add extra fees. This company is a fraud.

We are number one for slab leak detection in the area and we are in over 200 homes a month. I Bob Olson was handling your projects closely and talked to your adjuster personally. Because the other plumber stated false accusations which is normal so they can WIN the job you chose the work with them. We only did a line location and cap off to stop your leak and got your insurance to cover the claim. We never charged you anything else and we also didn’t do any estimates for 65k. You are upset and you don’t want to pay your bill. I have had long conversations with you, your adjuster and Faught personally to get your claim covered which is did. For you to spread your lies over Yelp when I went above and beyond to get your claim approved is very immature. I have proof and dates of all estimates and would be happy to share with Yelp to remove this unnecessary review. I don’t usually respond to reviews like this but you always have one of those customers in a every few thousand jobs so I don’t mind sharing a response like this. I hope you find piece in your project and wish you the best to make sure you get your plumbing fixed and your house back together for the holidays. Life is to short to do this to honest hard working companies.
