    We purchased a house in ******, **********. Before we receive the house, while we were doing the inspection, we found there is a giant hole in the bathtub caused by construction process. We reported to the *****, the sales representative who contacted us directly immediately. As you see in the picture, we wrote an email to her in middle of the November. However, she, and the sales team kept pushing us back and forth. They did not put any effort into solving the issue even giving us any clear picture of the solution to the issue. They kept telling us they will figure it out. After we move the money into the escrow account, we did another inspection to finish the escrow process. We still see the problem of the bathtub and we required the builder to replace the bathtub with a new one. Thus, we did not sign the paperwork saying we accept the house condition. However, the builder still recorded the escrow without our permission and without our acknowledgement. In such illegal and chaotic process, the customers right cannot be guaranteed and protected. meanwhile, back to the bathtub, the builder, Brookfield residential only offers us 3 years of warranty of the bathtub. However, as we all know, the bathtub's issue will appear after three years because of materials. By doing this, they are able to transfer their responsibility to us and we need to take care the problem caused by them. This is totally unacceptable and makes no sense. We wish we could get help from BBB.

    I moved to the ********* apartment building in *********** in 2019 and my rating just keeps getting lower and lower as they reduce the services and amenities. The building was bought by Brookfield in 2019 and now that they're bankrupt they just keep taking things away while still raising the rent. Downtown ** is really not a safe place so most apartment buildings have security, but not *********. They took that away in 2019 and so we just had a 24/7 concierge at the front desk instead. But now they're taking that away too. We've had building break-ins, overdose deaths of unhoused squatters, cars broken into. Doors are left open and unattended.We only have two elevators instead of three now, because it's too expensive to fix the broken one. The billing is in shambles with no accountability for the electrical bill and a new "service" to pay our rent that charges a fee, in addition to a second fee for a second service to pay utilities (that are usually wrong).The windows haven't been cleaned since 2022 and they won't be cleaned in 2024 either, according to building management. And I don't think the carpets have ever been cleaned.It's a beautiful, historic building that deserves better management. It's really a shame.
