On 6/29 my dog was groomed at Petrichor Pet. Upon drop-off, it was odd that all of the dogs were freely roaming around but we had been there before so I thought this was a fluke. When my husband picked up my dog she was acting really funny but we couldn't figure out why. A few days later we noticed a smell coming from her neck and upon further investigation there was a lump and 2 lacerations. We immediately took her to the emergency vet in the middle of the night at which time it was identified that she had a clear dog bite wound. Since we weren't warned of any altercations we didn't get it treated in time and her skin became necrotic and had to be drained and cut out. The vet bill was $3,000. I tried to get Petrichor's owner to call me to discuss but he refused. The manager said they have video footage and said they would review and reach out to me. That never occurred. Eventually, after being pestered by my lawyer, Petrichor's insurance company reached out to me and let me know that they had received all of the information and had advised their client to settle and pay for our vet bill. Unfortunately, they cannot require them to do so and, the owner refused. I would like a reimbursement and am prepared to go to court, if necessary.
