    Regarding United Tax Defense, they did not provide any services. They reached out to me on August 12th, 2024 without me contacting them. They had tax information on me and other personal information that caused me concern. When they contacted me, I called them back and they started communicating how they could help me with my IRS debt. While talking to a representative it was very noisy like there were a lot of people in the room. After asking for a down payment of ******, which I paid, they contacted me the next day and had IRS personal information on me, which I believe they always had, and communicated that they would need an additional ******* to continue. I balked at this amount and communicated that I didnt have the money. They said they could finance it for me and used pressure tactics to get me to acquiesce. I communicated that I could not provide said monies. Then they came back with a lower number. I declined, the next day the original representative kept calling and texting for me to get back to him. When I tried to get back to him with the emails provided, they bounced. Then I texted them stating that I would not proceed forward as I thought it was a scam and requested my money back because no service was provided. They blocked my text. All of this happened within 4 days starting August 12th, 2024, and concluded on August 15th 2024. I cancelled my credit card immediately.I believe that they operate in a boiler room and call people in IRS debt and try to extract money using fear tactics.

We apologize if the manner of contact or the subsequent communication caused you concern.Our marketing team contacted you because the *** flagged your account due to an outstanding balance. We identified you as someone who may benefit from our services in resolving this issue and are here to assist you in finding a solution.The $495 payment was for our thorough tax investigation on your behalf. We confirmed with the *** that you currently owe $20,667.87. The investigation you paid for was completed as promised, and the results have been communicated to you.We understand that the environment during the phone conversation may have been unsettling, and we apologize for any discomfort this may have caused. We also regret that our communication following your interaction was not up to the standard we aim to provide, including any issues with emails bouncing back or text messages being blocked as such is not the case. The $6,000 fee is for our resolution services, including negotiating with the *** to help settle or potentially reduce your outstanding debt. Our goal is to secure the best possible outcome for you in managing and resolving your tax liability. We want to assure you that all costs are communicated upfront regarding the service and fees discussed. We aim to work with each client to find a manageable solution for their tax situation. We apologize if our approach felt pressured, as this is not our intent. We will be reviewing our procedures to ensure that all clients feel supported rather than pressured.We also refunded you in good faith, even though we don't typically do this. This gesture signifies our commitment to your satisfaction and trust in our services.
