On May 1, 2024, I purchased a Groupon for an oil change at Sunland Tire in ******** for $53.49. I made an appointment for May 3, 2024 at noon and brought my car in for an oil change. They took the Groupon and added on an additional $30.89 for waste disposal and oil upgrade. It took at least a couple of hours for me to get my car back, since they had a car ahead of me. After the oil change was done, I was not given a receipt, since it was a Groupon and I already paid the extra $30.89 when I checked in my car. After bringing my car home, about a week went by and my husband noticed oil stains under my car when I would pull it out of the garage. It was small amounts, so I did not worry about it until I asked my mechanic (Glendora Imports) on July 10, 2024, to do a complete check-up on my car, since we were planning a road trip. My mechanic called me and asked me who changed my oil last time, because the reason the car was leaking oil was because someone put the oil plug back in crooked, leaving a space for the oil to drip out. He said it was "cross threaded." The only option was to replace the oil pan, which cost me $667.58 for that work alone. On July 16, 2024, my husband called Sunland Tire and spoke to the manager, ***, and told him what happened with the oil pan. *** took down our information and said he would do some "research" and call us back. *** called back within the hour and told us that the notes to the work order indicated that the drain plug was hard to remove and recommended a new oil pan. I was never advised that I needed a new oil pan and I was never given the notes, until I requested those on July 16th, which was emailed to me what looks like something that was put together after the fact. In closing, I want to be reimbursed for the damage that was caused by Sunland Tire in the amount of $667.58. If in fact there were problems with the oil pan at that time, they should have said something to me, but I received nothing and was told nothing.
