On Sunday afternoon of ******** *** ***** I went to see a 2005 Yamaha Motorcycle. I informed the seller owner that I was interested in the motorcycle, he suggested I leave a deposit of 500 hundred dollars. It was closing time and he gave me a receipt and i gave him 5, bills of 100. Immediately after I left I had doubts as I needed a mechanic to look at the motorcycle. The price was $**** and I returned the following Thursday and informed that I would be unable to make the purchase. I apologized profusely and said I could not make the purchase. His son and wife were present and his son stated all sales were final....I find this unfair and felt the owner was unscrupulous and i had to accept $250.dollars. I Don't feel like this should be standard business practice.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/03/17) */ We have several signage by our register that reads "No Exchange / No Refunds" and "All Sales Final" we are a small mom and pop shop and that is the common business practice for shops of our stature. When the customer left his Deposit of $500 he was supposed to return the following days, he did not. We called him several times and no response. We had other offers from other customers come through out the next week and denied them since he left a deposit. After He showed up the following week he said he did not have a place to park it and would like his deposit back. No mention of a mechanic being needed -which we wouldve been fine with as we knew the motorcycle ran. We informed him that we had missed out on other possible sales and lost money and that a deposit is an agreement of sale. WE offered him store credit despite our "no exchange" policy to which he responded that he: doesnt come in the area much and it wouldnt be worth it to him. Now at a loss we offered him half the deposit back to which he agreed. We did this despite losing out on other deals and losing out on our two party agreement. We went above and beyond trying to make this situation right and any further funds payed would be an infringement of an already settled agreement.
