I took my car in for a flat tire and that was a huge mistake. This place is shady. 1st of all he charged me *** for a run flat that I've never paid more than *** for but when I had called to ask about my tire and he couldn't give me a price, I knew something was up. When I picked up my car he claimed that there were multiple items wrong with my car including needing an oil change, which I just got but he said did not count because it was not through ********. He also said I needed a battery which i just got at********* but apparently they didn't do it right. He talked to me like I was******* and kept telling me that my car had multiple issues. When I drove off, barely made it a mile and my car started to shake and the ABS light went on and when I called him he said all he did was change my tire and I need to pay to get it checked and was trying to get me to bring it back in. I called my mechanic and I'm taking my car to my guy but I'm also going to be reporting this place.

I took my car to **** Autotech/Automotive in June 2022 to get an oil leak repaired, that leak was originally noticed by *** and I went to **** since their price was lower. They looked at my car previously and quoted me ****** to repair the leak. After I dropped my car off assuming the price would be lower (since the individual over the phone said I could get a discount), they sent me a new estimate for ****** that included a **** part that wasn't listed on ***'s invoice. I emailed them the invoice from *** and called out exactly what part was leaking but they ignored this email/part and insisted that I needed the more expensive part, among others. After discussing this with them and with much hesitation I paid them to have the leak repaired and they told me they would fix any problems that arise within their 12 month warranty guarantee. After driving about 220 miles post repair, my car started leaking again in September 2022 so I took it back to **** and they originally said they would honor the warranty. A day later though, and much to my surprise, they sent me a bill for ******* Apparently they discarded our discussions and the email I sent with the *** invoice where I called out exactly which part was leaking but they chose to ignore and upsell me a part that was over ten times more expensive. That *** part was never replaced and they are trying to force me into paying for two full repairs above and beyond the original quote in order to have it properly repaired based on my original recommendation, which I have in email. The first repair was entirely unsuccessful and never fixed the problem. They refuse to fix the repair even though I offered to pay for the new $50 part and they will not reimburse me for the original incomplete job where they unnecessarily replaced higher priced parts that weren't even included on ***'s original invoice. I have everything in email should you require additional information. Thank you.

      Business response

      10/25/2022

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/30) */ After replacing the leaking rear main oil seal we determined that the lower oil pan has a severe oil leak which needs to be replaced and will send you an estimate with a photo. We confirmed the rear main oil seal leaks which we provide you with all documented proof and you agree. Now we have a different situation which we will work with you for additional discount to cover our cost at total $1000.00. ************ declined our generous offer and pick up his ***. . Rafi Autotech Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/10/06) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) After filing this complaint I took my *** to ************ who confirmed that the leak is NOT coming from the lower oil pan gasket as RAFI claims, but rather it is coming from the rear main seal and the engine cover that RAFI claims to have replaced. According to ************ these parts were never actually replaced and they were still leaking. There was NO leak coming from the oil pan gasket. I am attaching 7 files for your reference and below is the explanation for each numbered file. Also my contact at ************ is ******** and his number is ************** if you have any questions related to their videos or repair work. I have filed a formal complaint that's being investigated by the ***************************. My representative is ************ and he can be reached at ************************************************* 1.) This is a video from ************ confirming that the leak is not coming from the lower oil pan gasket as RAFI claimed, but rather it is coming from the rear seal (and the engine cover). RAFI claims they replaced these parts in June and they have a 12 month warranty. They also claimed they replaced the real seal in September but then noticed a severe leak from the lower oil pan (see #5). 2.) This is a video showing the parts that need replaced, these parts were supposedly replaced by RAFI (rear main seal/engine cover) but ************ claims they don't appear to have ever been replaced. Regardless, they were still leaking less than 3 months after paying RAFI for repairs and RAFI claims they replaced the rear seal again on September 13th (see #5). 3.) This is the receipt from ************ with their notes on what is leaking and what's not leaking. 4.) This is an email from RAFI stating they would replace the oil seal under warranty, prior to later emailing and claiming the lower oil pan gasket had a severe leak (see #5). 5.) This is an email from RAFI stating they replaced the rear main seal and determined the lower oil pan had a severe leak (************ demonstrated otherwise in #1). 6.) This is the latest quote from RAFI attempting to charge me for the UPPER oil pan gasket repair... 7.) This is the receipt from RAFI that I paid in June, this includes the real main seal and engine cover, both of which were still leaking after the repair and ************ claims they were never even replaced. Thanks, ******
