Date: 10/23/2021 Visited Koi Palace for dimsum. When the **** came, the receipt read Subtotal: ****** 18% Service Charge: ***** Tax (*****%): ***** Sales Total: ****** Total: ****** I questioned the staff why are they calculating tax after the service charge is added in. They advised me it goes to the state, we don't pocket that money. They kind of just kept telling me the same thing and brushed me off. I don't believe this is correct. In addition to this being a very shady business tactic to line the owners' pockets with more money at the end of the year, it's completely unacceptable. An extra $2-$3 per table for 100 tables is an extra $300 just for the morning rush. How much more are they making off the dinner bills that are $1000+? Koi Palace is over charging their loyal customers for no reason. They are a big restaurant group and have multiple sister restaurants too.
