I purchased 10 new windows and 2 new doors from *********************** who was the principal owner of Cal Enterprises ******************************* in March 2015. The total amount of the purchase was $6980. I was given a 10-year warranty covering defective materials, and improper installation leading to poor performance with Cal Enterprises w/ a 100% guarantee of replacements, repairs, and adjustments. With the January 2023 rain storms we experienced in the ***********, I discovered mold developing under my carpet and pad within a few weeks later in my living room next to the sliding glass door. A building inspector determined that the water was entering under the door frame as a result of the door not being properly flashed. The inspector also added that both doors had been installed without a Door Pin or Flashing, aka Drip Pan or Floor Pan. These are standard parts that should be installed to prevent water from entering your home. When I finally got a response from ****************** regarding my issue, he told me in a voicemail that he closed down his business here in ** 5 years ago and moved to *********. Also added that he didn't know what a Door Pin or Flashing was and that he wouldn't be able to do anything for me since so much time had elapsed, but would send someone out to look at it. After doing some research, I found that he is still operating in the area under a different name which is Cal Construction Enterprises, **** There is an active website up under this name using the same business phone number and ********, ** address. Ironically, this company is not listed with the CA State ************************** Additionally, I found that ****************** has had one license revoked and one expired under different company names. It appears that he may be operating without a license in ** and possibly *********. I discovered this after I accepted his offer to send someone out, and apparently, the person that originally installed my windows and doors will be coming to assess the situation.
