Complainants generally allege receiving unsolicited notices on their computer screens informing them that their computers have been infected with a virus and directing them to contact the company. Consumers also report that the company requests to remotely access their computers to fix the problem and to install the Virus Eraser program.

The business generally responds to these complaints by denying the complainant's allegations and explaining that they have many affiliate partners that resell their software.

BBB believes these complaints contain a pattern of similar allegations and contacted the business on March 7, 2016, March 15, 2016, and March 22, 2016. We requested that they provide us with a list of steps, if any, they planned to take to prevent similar issues in the future. The company did not provide this as requested, however on September 19, 2016 the company contacted us requesting BBB Accreditation. The same day, BBB responded by outlining the BBB Accreditation Standards the company currently did not appear to meet, including Standard Six, Section D which requires an Accredited Business to cooperate with BBB in efforts to eliminate the underlying cause of patterns of customer complaints that are identified by BBB. The company responded to this correspondence on November 24, 2016, indicating that the pattern of allegations was due to the actions of one company authorized as a reseller of their software and that they had terminated their relationship with that reseller.
