Complete scam! Youll pay monthly service fees for services your loan provider already offers at no cost. This company has fraudulent written all over it and I pray for a lawsuit as this should be illegal. I wish I would have taken the time to read the fine print and discuss options with my loan carrier before I wasted $1260 that could have went to my student loan. They will tell you just about anything to get you hooked, including how they can forgive a portion of your federal student loan after x amount of payments. Only the federal government can do this. If something sounds too good to be true then it usually isnt. Shame on me for falling into this trap.

These people will say anything to get you to sign up with them, and they don't even service loans! They just sign you up with a servicer and charge you monthly fees for being the middle man, but they don't tell you any of this upon signing up. I had to learn this the hard way seven years later, after learning that I never had to make those monthly fees in the first place. My student loan servicer told me the ***** of ********* services loans for free (no service fees) and that National Budget Planners scammed me. Even now with my loans being serviced by a different company, they are still charging me monthly fees when they don't do any services for me. Consumers beware!! Don't ever trust a company that solicits you over the phone for your student loan servicing needs, they are not the ones that will actually service your loans but they will still charge you money. On top of that, National Budget Planners promised me that I qualified for loan forgiveness if I made on-time payments for 7 years even though I wasn't going into non-profit or government work. They said it didn't matter what my job was, as long as I made on-time payments for 7 years, my remaining balance would be forgiven. Seven years later, here I am still paying off loans because my actual loan servicer said that I do NOT qualify for this since I'm not a non-profit or government employee.

National Budget Planners are an organization that profit off of consumer laziness and specialize in misleading their customers. Fresh out of college I was told I would be placed on the 10 year student loan forgiveness plan, meaning that after 120 successful payments the entirety of my loan would be forgiven. Turns out this was a bold-faced lie, and after contacting ******* Services, they received no correspondence corroborating this information. All they were doing was collecting a monthly lump sum that they forwarded toward my loan, the bare minimum to keep the account from going into forbearance but not enough to keep interest from accruing, meaning my annual balance remained virtually the same year after year, all while they collected a monthly "servicing fee."This business model is predatory and should be illegal, and while it technically was not and while I place a majority of the blame on my younger and dumber self for signing up, I recommend you steer clear of this sham and just deal directly with your creditor to establish a payment plan to mitigate the chance of being scammed. While I sadly doubt my story would be enough to prompted an investigation by the Better Business Bureau, I hope they're one bad transaction away from that day coming.

I consolidated my credit cards and made an $800. payment every month for over 4 years. I started getting notices from my credit card companies, saying the debt was paid. I finally called National Budget Planners only to find that my credit cards were all paid and that I had a credit balance of &*****. They would have just kept taking that $800. If I hadn't called. They were very apologetic, but when it came to refunding my money they took a week, after telling me they were overnighting me a cashiers check. They have all my banking info, they could have wired it.. Lots of red flags. Beware.
