I was referred to ******* World by **************** and **** at Pepper Test Only Smog station because the monitor's/sensors/codes on my ******* Tiburon weren't "ready" after many tests (CATALYST code/mode 6) and that I MAY need a new catalytic converter.I went to ******* and his mechanich "Crazy ******** had me do a drive cycle to reset the monitors and according to his machine, I "needed" to replace the catalytic converter to pass smog. So, I had him replace it for $1415.88 which did absolutely NOTHING. STILL won't pass smog. I've driven over ***** miles and did the drive cycles - still hasn't cleared the codes/monitors/sensors. Basically, I paid him a lot of money to do something that was NOT needed.I was told they were a "state licensed smog repair shop" - FALSE. That was NOT true as advised by the *** State Referee who confirmed they are NOT.In addition, ******* damaged my Air Conditioner compressor and hose which he said had to be removed to replace the catalytic converter. They had to be repaired at *************** for and additional $350.00 (he claimed it had a leak - FALSE - it didn't have a leak - it only leaked AFTER he cut the hose).I was advised by MANY smog shops and mechanics that I was scammed and this shop didn't need to replace the catalytic converter and they should have provided diagnostics and reports specifying why that work was needed - they never did.I spoke to the owner ***** 2 or 3 times advising of the situation and requested a refund as his mechanic "Crazy ******** did something that never needed to be done and did shoddy work and requested a refund. After 10 months of trying to get the monitors/sensors/codes to reset which his mechanic claimed he could fix he refused to issue a refund but advised me to "file a complaint" with the ********** Automotive Bureau".I got a not needed catalytic converter that cost $1488.55 and a car that STILL hasn't passed smog because of other issues that they should have repaired instead.
