On August 18, 2022, I purchased a used **** ****** Camry XLE from Autometrics Quality Used Cars in **********, **. They advertised the car as being in "excellent condition", and "clean". However, approximately 4 weeks later, the car wouldn't start, due to a dead battery, which was 5 years old, and would no longer charge up. After replacing the battery, the car operated fine for another week before it again wouldn't start. This time, the problem appeared to be the starter. However, after waiting several hours, the car did start. A few days later, the car again failed to start, but after several hours, it started. And finally, a few days after that, the car failed to start, and still won't start to this day. The car needs to be towed to a mechanic for diagnosis and repair. In addition to the battery and starting problems, other issues with the vehicle include, tires below the legal tread depth; worn brake pads; bad suspension parts; broken accessories (specifically, the CD player); non-functioning alert chimes and warning lights on the dashboard; a broken car ***** and "lifter tick" noise coming from the engine. These problems make the car unsafe to drive, unroadworthy, and inoperable. A car in that condition should never have been sold for anything other than salvage value. The dealership misrepresented the car as being in better condition than it was, and defrauded myself and the lender that financed the vehicle. The car needs thousands of dollars in parts and labor to be restored to a roadworthy and drivable condition. The dealership needs to either pay for the repairs; or take the car back, return the loan proceeds to the finance company, and reimburse me for the new battery I bought, as well as the sales tax and all fees paid; or exchange the vehicle for another one that is in good working condition.Business response

12/28/2021 I purchased a **** **** lexus rx 330 for $12000. I had asked if there were any problems with the car before purchasing it no was the answer. After driving it for 3 days the check engine light came on. A fee days after that the vsc and trak off lights came on. I called the owner who said it was probably due to driving on wet road after rain. I took it to a reputable shop who said it needed 2 new cataylic converters , had a small oil leak a coolant leak around $5000 in repairs. I drove back to the dealership 1 hr 20 min drive and he said he was having his mechanic look at it. I sat there from 11am until 4 pm .He said his mechanic said there is a small coolant leak and turned the lights off with a code machine and told me to drive it around. He said he could not afford to fix the catalytic converters. I told him I couldn't afford it either. I gave him all the money I had and work hard for my money and don't make a lot. I feel this is criminal. My mechanic said he most likely turned the lights off before selling it because it was pretty much impossible that after 3 days of purchasing the car both cataylic converters went bad. He must have had a fake smog done to have it pass because it would not have passed smog in this condition. He did offer to take the car back but I would need to pay $750 . I feel this too is unfair. His advertising says he offers a 30 day or **** mile warranty but it doesn't cover my problems. He did offer me $400 to fix the power steering leak and said his mechanic didn't find the oil leak that my mechanic found. I realize I should have had it looked at before the purchase I live an hour and a half away and didn't think I could drive it to my mechanic to look at it before hand. Is there anything that can be done? I feel taken advantage of and I'm sure I'm not the only person he is treating like this. I did purchase a warranty from him but feel he sold it to me knowing the car needed $5000 in repairs. Please help me resolve
