On September 20th and 26th 2022 East Bay Sanitary Co (*****) assessed 2 fees of $25 each for returned payment on my bank account (totaling $50). My account was open and there should have been no issue with processing these transactions. Upon contacting my bank they advised me that there is no record of either of the aforementioned charges being made. They confirmed that if there was a charge that was declined there would be a record of it and I was advised that there was no attempt to charge my account and no payment/s was/were declined. The bank also confirmed a number of other chargespayments made by ACH and checks writtenprocessed without issue on and around these dates. I communicated this to the company and they responded by mailing something they printed that indicated some issue processing the payment but no information about the account they attempted to charge. I contacted my bank and asked them to investigate whether a charge was processed by ***** and they advised me there was not. Further, they informed me that if a charge had been attempted or declined they would have a record of this. I also could not find a record of this (or any declined charges) in my own personal banking records then or since then. I subsequently paid my bill from the same bank account without issue. I have continued to pay ***** from this account. I communicated all of this in Nov and Dec of 2022 but they have not removed the charges from my account. They have, instead, recently threatened to assess further late fees for the late fees they have not substantiated. I have continued to pay the normal fees for their services as required. There is no evidence that whatever issue they may have had has to do with my account. I have asked them to remove the charges and they have instead threatened to assess additional charges for these late fee charges. I simply want them to remove the erroneous charges from my account. I have always, and continue to, pay for their services.
