      We hired Elk Moving Company to complete our moving, were quoted **** to complete the move, and have since been taken advantage of. While they were at our home to complete the move, they told me that they wouldnt complete it unless we paid an additional 7 K in cash that day. I had no options, and paid the money. Fast forward to today, they are now saying that we owe them more money for a charge nowhere listed in the contract and if we dont pay, will auction our things away. While I need my stuff, I am fearful there is something fraudulent or underhanded happening, and will not pay the money without an explanation of the charge. They refuse, and continue to threaten unless I pay the money.

      I started working with this company back in Feb 2022 on a move from CA to TN. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful, so the first thing I did was put a deposit down to lock in the gas prices. I shouldve looked at their rating on BBB, because I wouldve never hired them had I seen the rating. ****** learned I signed an agreement for an estimate move. They came they packed they loaded. Then once the truck was loaded I was told that the estimated amount was double what they had originally estimated, and if we wanted to remove things from the truck we could. Seriously? What were we supposed to do with t***e things? Our home was sold, and we had to get out. I proceeded with the outrageous down payment which was almost $12,000 plus the $2000 that I had already given them. I was then told that we would still owe $5080 once our belongings were delivered. I also opted in for their one month free storage to give us time to get to TNband find a storage unit. Once the truck was loaded I was then told that we would need to get a unit that they could get a semi truck into. Fast forward seven days. I get a phone call wanting to know where they want us to deliver our household to. The person that I spoke to couldnt have gave two cents about the fact that we were supposed to have free storage for a month. I was told that our things were gonna be here in two days and they needed an address. I called and asked for a supervisor, and they did get a supervisor on the phone by the name of **** he told me that they had made a mistake on the free storage and he would help find a storage unit for us and he would call me back. I never heard from him. Basically that first day I got the runaround from several people that became very unhelpful . We rushed around found a storage unit. I called again asked for a supervisor I told them that I had a complaint. They said you need to speak to Ben *** the owner. I have yet to hear from **** I would like them to pay my first months storage.

      I moved from Cali to Az. on 4/9/2022. Elk picked up my belongings on the 6th of ********* was told everything they take apart, they will put back together upon delivery (that did NOT happen)! On the 12th, 1 guy arrived in a truck with 2 older men that rode up on their bicycles to help the driver & delivered my belongings damaged beyond repair! The men looked like drug ************** were smoking cigarettes & one stumbled going up the stairs! I immediately called ************** from Elk Moving & Hauling & explained what was going on. I also sent photos of my most expensive items that are damaged! ***** texted me the information on filing a claim with Anthem Claim. A week later I did because I had to unpack everything to see what else was damaged. My $2,000 Sealy Hybrid Silverchill Premium mattress, my $1,800.00 sofa/loveseat, cherrywood tv stand, dishes, crushed hamper, missing wheel for my office chair, wheels on a 3drawer plastic ********** had to put all 3 of my TVs sizes 43, 49 & 55inch back together & on the stands by myself. I submitted my claim & got an automated response that itll be ***** days before I hear from Anthem claims & thats UNACCEPTABLE ESPECIALLY when I was told my move would cost approximately $2,600 & I paid over $5,000.09 to have my things picked up & delivered in the same condition they were picked up in. My $2,000.00 mattress is sliced up, fabric & durafoam is missing! I need to be compensated ASAP, not in several months!I called & texted ************** again to see if he will help me get this expedited & he has yet to ************* been a few days! I worked very hard for everything I have & to have someone else damage it & make me wait to be reimbursed is unfair & totally unethical! I need compensation, reimbursement ASAP! I paid a lot of money for my items & this move & I feel like I was robbed.

      This consumer hired the services of *** Moving and Hauling for a long distance move from ******, ****** to *********, ** on September 2021. A quote for all services dealing with the move was placed by *** Moving and Hauling, to which it included all pieces of furniture, boxes, and appliances to be moved. On the day of the move, movers hired for *** Moving and Hauling showed up. After looking at all the pieces for the move, that were included in the quote (including sizes, dimensions, and number of the actual pieces), they then mentioned that the original price of the quote was wronged, and that the real price for the entire load was almost tripled to what the quote originally said. After further discussions with the movers, a supervisor for *** Moving and Hauling (over the phone), this consumer had no choice to accept the charges. Several pieces of furniture were left behind to reduce the price of the move.After three weeks of waiting for our pieces back in *********, **, when *** Moving and Hauling delivered our pieces, it showed that two items (furniture) were damaged during at their warehouse or during transportation, and two other pieces (furniture) were missing. Contact was made to *** Moving and Hauling to report the missing items and damaged items. *** Moving and Hauling did not assume responsibility for the missing items and said to summit a claim through their insurance company. A claim was submitted through ***********************.

      The Date of the transaction was 12/28/2021 We hired Nation wide moving services to move ****** Plant Nutrients warehouse from ********** to ******** We paid for 26FT Truck **** cf. (***** lbs)Estimated Rate:$4.25 per cf from Nation Wide Estimate # N4970705 We agreed to this and then Nation Wide contracted out to Elk Moving & Hauling ************************************************************************** Contract # N4920705 FROM ***************************************************************************** going to ********************************************************** Upon arrival with the Truck there was already stuff in the Truck that we where told would be empty and when asked they said there was **** CU FT left and they started to load our stuff they didn't get all of warehouse on their truck needless to say we requested that someone come out an measure the Truck we where told by nationwide and Elk Moving they are the professionals we got what we paid for and they will take our stuff back and drop it off knowing we no longer had that option. We asked Elk Moving several times verbally and on email if we can measure the truck when it arrives before we make Final payment they told us No. When the third party arrived with the shipment the allowed us to measure and take pictures after they received final payment. upon re measuring and pictures it came out to 8x8x12 768CU FT We had been shorted by Elk Moving & Hauling **** CU FT We called ***** the manager who was handling it all and she refused to take our calls or answer our Emails we sent over a request for contact to resolve this matter and get a refund on 01/04/2022 we have also called several time with no return call. I also have several text messages back and forth about this matter and each time ***** was very unprofessional and Rude and did not answer our questions.
