I purchased a new ram **** Laramie on September 5, 2021. My first check engine light was on September 6 while accelerating the truck lost all power. At this point the truck at less than 80 miles. I live quite a ways away from the dealer where I purchased. I took my new truck to the local Dodge dealer in my town. They cleared the code and said I would have to leave the truck for further investigation. They went on to tell me that they were currently scheduling maintenance appointments for weeks out. Unacceptable. I work 220 miles out of town. I left the vehicle in my driveway and borrow the truck for my work week. I continue tomorrow a truck for the next month or so and driving my new Dodge only on the weekends. During this time this same issue has occurred no less than eight times. My wife was present for a couple of them. The fact is under heavy acceleration the truck will cut out and you have zero power. I have also read this taking place with another customer in an online forum. I believe it will take for somebody to die or numerous people to die before Dodge remedies this problem. Very irresponsible for the Dodge brand name. My next major experience with my $60,000 truck was on Sunday, November 21, 2021 on the way to visit my dad who is on hospice with Covid. The battery light on the dash came on and my charge gauge went down to zero. This is the other shoe that I was afraid that was going to drop with my new Dodge ram E torque. This truck has no alternator. It runs your accessories on a 60 V battery. When my gauges in my truck tell me Im no longer getting a charge to that 60 V battery I had to turn around and head from my house. At this point I insisted on having my new truck towed to the dealer where I purchased. This dealer happens to be ELK GROVE DODGE and ****************** is the service manager I spoke with. ****************** is a very nice man. However I have never in my life experienced such a low level of customer service in my life. It brings to mind A saying that we used to use in the army. My new truck currently has 747 miles on it. It cannot be driven. ****************** explain to me that he is here to help. All the while Im driving a rental truck at my own expense. You see the dealer will not give you a rental vehicle or loaner vehicle until your actual appointment time comes up. If my appointment time was six months from now I guess ****************** would get me a loaner in six months time. So Im using the rental to work out of town in support VA mission which is my current job. I spoke with ****************** on numerous occasions today. All conversations started with him telling me how very sorry he was that this happened. Somewhere in the middle of these conversations he explained that I was talking to the right person to help my situation. At the end of the conversation I asked ****************** if I could have a loaner or rental truck effective immediately. He explained he was unable to do so and also went on to say one more time how very sorry it was that I had to experience this. If youre going to buy a Dodge truck with zero service after the sale..You will need to factor into your finances a rental vehicle from time to time. Right now Im making a truck payment along with insurance on my new Dodge ram as well as a $745 a week truck rental. I have explained to ****************** to please be prepared. The part I did not tell him was that A similar situation occurred with a local car dealership in my hometown. The customer stated all the facts on social media. Many other customers came forward all need to find a mushroom cloud of dissatisfied customers. I will be reaching out to every social media branch, along with a select group of buddies that I served with. I imagine their buddies will chime in as well. I actually talked to my CO I served with that lives in Kentucky that has the same truck with the same problem. I respectfully request that Dodge ram provide safe loaner vehicles for all the torque owners. There will be accidents in more than likely death if this is not remedied. Sincerely EAB
