CEP AmeCEP America California is attempting to charge me for an emergency room visit that occurred 11 months ago, on May 5, 2024. The first bill I received was dated April 7, 2025, and it is labeled as a final notice. I believe they are trying to balance bill me. It has been nearly impossible to get in touch with them. I have sent emails, left messages, and waited on hold for over four hours in an attempt to speak with someone. All I want is to receive a copy of the bill so I can review it and understand what I am being charged for. It feels like they are trying to wear me down into simply paying the bill, as reaching a representative is extremely difficult.

I was seen in the ** on 2/1 and was already billed for this visit both the ** Visit and the **** Both were billed through the hospital. This charge was also not on the estimate provided. I did not receive these services through this company and these chrages need to be reversed. CEP America is double billing for the same services that were billed through the hospital! Now they are trying to send me to collections for their fraudulent billing.

Keep getting calls from the automated service, no human to talk to. I had medical bills resulting from a car accident that is 100% covered under my car insurance however, after a multitude of contact attempts State Farm nor myself can speak to any representative. Now they are reporting to collections when the bill could have been paid since November, it's now March and the redundancy of negligence on behalf of this company that obviously has no buisness running interference in people's lives. This reminds me of a Dubai phone pharming scam.

I received a bill stating I owe around $1,200 for an er visit in September of 2024. Ive called this company twice, on hold both times, 23minutes the first time and 16minutes the second time. I left a voicemail asking them to call back about this bill and they never have. Seems more like a scam than an actual business.

I went to the ****************************************** Emergency room on 06/02/2024. This bill is specifically for the ER Physician (******* ****** D.O.) this billing is called Vituity thru CEP AMERICA LLC. They had me listed as selfpay/no insurance so I called them to give them my insurance information Priority Health Vital PPO ******** and I thought that would take care of it but it did not they still didn't bill the insurance (I gave called priorty Health 2 times to help with this ******************************** ************) and yesterday the Vituity bill came again at the same amount before insurance $832.00 I also called ******** to have them check into it. I am reporting this to you because it seems like I am giving all the necessary insurance information to this billing company and they are still not sending it thru the insurance, I am more than happy to pay what I owe, but until they put it thru the insurance and have a correct bill with the after insurance amount I do not know what I owe. I do not want this to go to collection I pay my debts and I work hard to keep a good credit rating. I do not wish to have a negative view on my credit just because a company isn't billing correctly, and trying to overcharge me. I keep trying to call this buisness but every time I do it says "it is closed for the day and to call during normal buisness hours Monday thru Friday 6am to 6:30pm, we'll I have called around 8am during those days and it is the same message. It's almost like after my initial call with them that my number gets redirected to that. I just want to be able to pay what I owe and not a bill that isn't correct.

I visited the local Ascension Sacred Heart Emergency room in May of 2024 for a wound on my arm that required stitches. I received my insurance statement later, and it stated that I owed nothing. Just today, 8 months later, I received a "Final Notice" from CEP AMERICA LLC, stating I owe the "rendering provider," the **** who treated me, $1,257.00. Until this letter, I had received no correspondence from CEP America. Furthermore, they list my primary insurance as ************************ I provided my insurance information to the hospital, and they have it on record as reflected on my insurance statement. I tried to call CEP America to discuss the matter with someone, but a recording stated that all employees were off today for a scheduled training session. This feels very much like fraud. I am not comfortable paying this company anything due to the length of time that has passed, their subtly and intentionally threatening letter, and the fact that they have not contacted my insurance company even though the hospital, and the attending ****, had access to my insurance information.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I am satisfied that the business (after 8 months have passed since the date of service) will finally send a claim to my insurance company. However, I am not satisfied with the following statements in the letter from ******* ********:

    1) The patient "was private pay with no insurance information given." This is absolutely false. I provided my insurance information to the hospital at the time of service.

    2) I was never sent an earlier statement in the mail or a text to pay message, as claimed in the letter. These statements are also false. I only received the "Final Notice" letter.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****

CEP America is responsible for the revenue cycle management of ****** Health; however, they are not the entity to which the debt is owed. There are concerns regarding fraud reporting, particularly involving employees located outside the country who lack the necessary knowledge and improperly remove patients' insurance information from their records. As a result, all bills are submitted as self-pay, even when patients have active insurance coverage. This situation can negatively impact a person's credit file. The CFO of ****** Health is aware of this issue and acknowledges that CEP America, formerly known as R1 ********, has improperly sold the business. The lack of empathy shown by the company is astonishing, and there have been no repercussions for their wrongdoing. This is also a ***** violation for selling Medical information to a third party.
