I am an educated 34-year-old single mom employed by ***. I was a regular customer at this bar, accumulating many points and spending my hard-earned money for over 2 years. The service started to get bad to the point where I couldn't cash out unless I stood up walking. It also got to the point where I sat for 20 minutes and not one greeting or eye contact. As a single woman dining & drinking by herself, I felt ignored on purpose. Its not easy having the courage to take up a spot at the bar alone, and to be ignored was hurtful plus cruel. One time I couldn't get any service at all for 20 minutes, so I walked out. That was my last straw so i wrote an assertive Yelp review calling out the staff that works there. I came in there again for a drink and the owner escorted me outside to talk to me about my Yelp review. He wouldn't let me eat or drink there because my Yelp review made his staff uncomfortable, but he said he would talk it over with staff. I explained the yelp review and why I was so upset. He asked why I came back, and I told him that I hoped the service would change, and I go for the ambiance. I am not an Encinitas local, but I live close enough to want to enjoy the area. The owner said I was a nice person, and he would talk to his staff, however, that I needed to stop coming for a couple of weeks until he resolves this. I agreed and never came back. Several weeks later, I was minding my business outdoors crossing the Encinitas strip sidewalk connected to Biergarden, when 4 employees taunted me (during a Memorial event) by shouting and throwing their hands up me. I was so confused that i approached them, to my mistake! ***** (an employee I called out on Yelp), began to verbally cuss me out with, I quote, "nobody f*cking cares, f*ck you!". Others joined in on the bullying and it was unacceptable. They tried to incite a fight and the cops got called. My reaction to the verbal face-to-face assault was caught on video, but not verbal abuse. It is disgraceful.
