Period between 11/2021 & 6/2022 Kitchen and Bath Remodel Amount paid: $122,100 Nature of dispute: Damage to home, poor quality work, overcharged for work done, demanding payments made before work completed, unfinished work, lack of supervision, safety issues, abandoned project, robbery restitution, harassment by Vittorio employees restitution, not paying their employees. One employee was fired by them for harassing customers, including us, followed by a string of harassing text and phone calls blaming us for her being fired. Two windows left open after the last time this employee entered our home which led to a robbery the next day. (Vittorio has agreed to reimburse for loss via email (included) however, they have not done so). Vittorio kept doing poor quality work, repairing the damage their inexperienced employess created several times, denied any problems, left home unsafe and did subpar work and then abandoned project leaving us to hire subcontractors to finish the project. We hired Vittorio Remodeling & Construction November 2021 to do a kitchen and bath remodel. They told us they would have a project manager to oversee project and contractor to run and complete the job. They used incompetent workers who did not properly install plumbing, which leaked and they kept trying to fix their work, opening up walls 3 times and doing a horrible patching of walls which we had to pay someone else to fix.. after all the plumbing installation issues and leaks, We kept asking for a thorough inspection of plumbing work of which they said plumbing was good. We had issues with leaks, faulty installation, pipes not secured, rattling when water is turned on. We hired our own licensed plumber who found several issues of Vittorios shotty work. Vittorio failed to put in a required p-trap which would have caused sewer gas to enter house, they left a gas pipe not secured which was a safety issue, they did not properly secure new water pipes which caused all the noise of rattling pipes in the walls in various areas. They made our house unlivable for 8 months although we had an agreement with them that we would remain living in the house. We left for the holidays and they said house was not in any condition for us to come back. During which time, their workers left two windows open and we were robbed. We have proof on video they left windows open. They have yet to reimburse us $6800 for this loss.. They would not show up to our job for weeks at a time. We later found out from their contractor that Vittorio wasnt paying him so he stopped coming. He threatened them that he was going to put a lean on our house until they paid him. Their contractor/******* did not oversee project which left a lot of things not done properly. They went through five project managers and two contractors on our job due to their own internal issues (people quitting during our project). We were harassed by two of these project managers. I kept all text. They ordered the wrong size door slider, which we had to pay to get replaced and installed by someone else. Their contractor and project manager did not oversee window installation and window installer cut through a header which left our house structurally unstable. We had to fight to get that repaired as no one would take the blame. The window installer damaged windows that we had to pay to get fixed. We have pictures. They redid the hardwood floor which looks like a patch job as they did not properly install planks or fixed areas they said they would replace of which we paid them $5800, plus they charged $5000 to refinish floors. When we asked them to fix those areas they said were covered, they said we had to pay an additional $4500 or they would only do the bare minimum of which they did poor quality and unfinished work. They damaged bathroom shower when putting in a support beam which cracked the wall and tile in the shower and the exterior wall. They abandoned the job when their last project manager was asked to leave the company for mismanaging several projects we found out later why he wasnt answering us . They stopped calling us and left us to run the project ourselves to get it finished and we had to hire our own subs to come in and fix their shotty work. Their unlicensed plumber and 2nd contractor said they fixed the loose pipe to showerhead we pointed out as an issue. Their fix was that they put a rock wedged between water pipe and wall stud, to somehow keep pipe from wobbling which was discovered by our hired licensed plumber when we had him come over to assess the shotty plumbing and leaks. We asked their second contractor to send the plumber back as we found a leak under the house. We videotaped the leaking pipe. When their plumber inspected, he said there were no leaks and left. We stopped asking them to come back to fix any more problems as they denied any issues. We hired our own plumber to check Vittorio's shotty plumbing work and our plumber found several issues, some of which were safety hazards. Our plumber said by law, he could not leave the safety issues and fixed them immediately for us. We then contacted the **** who got involved to negotiate a settlement, we were asking for $54,568.11 in refund/restitution. Our original contract was for $113.250. We paid $122,100. They added on another $31,400 for extra work done. The extra work was excessive.. In the contract they gave several thousand dollars in allowances of which we had to pay for our own items so we deducted these items. They never finished the job or invoicing to deduct all the allowances, ie, countertop fabrication/install, backsplash installation, door allowance, all of which we had to pay additional out of pocket. Our accounting will be uploaded. Currently **** has assigned a field investigator to our project as Vittorio did not settle with us even after their own counsel advised them to settle. I contacted their counsel recently to let them know we were taking Vittorio to court pending **** field investigators review and counsel said he no longer represents Vittorio. We can provide any paperwork/support documents, text, photos and video needed.
