Back in August, I just started a new job. My car was totaled a few months prior but because I didnt have a job, I couldnt get a lease/loan. When I started working in ********, I got a rental for a week from Bargain Rental Car in town. The price was great; $250 and change for a week. I returned the car after the week in the same condition as when I got it. No damage, gas in the tank. A few days later, owner started calling me angrily, saying I suddenly owed him a bill for $157. I thought, maybe I missed something in the contract? I said Id pay upon my next paycheck, assuming this request for additional payment from him was in good-faith. Unfortunately, as a salesperson, I wasnt paid until the next month.***** has been terrorizing my life ever since. He cannot produce a bill that makes sense; its hand-written, impossible to read, vague. He also dismissed my concern about the safety of the car; during the rental, I noticed a check-engine light that had been covered by black tape. That alone is concerning, but the harassment is out of control. When I still lived in town, hed show up at the house and bother my roommate, leave business cards to show he was there when nobody was home. Now, he calls CONSTANTLY from all different numbers. He threatens me (AND my family) but in vague, weird wording, so I cant be sure what hes planning.he online-stalked me and called my workplace, threatening to get me fired. Im terrified. The police where I work and in ********* arent sure what to do either. Im worried hes going to do something crazy, or just try to interfere with my new job. I am unsure if i should pay now because I feel extorted. I dont trust him with my card info, or that h*** stop even if I pay.I want this business to stop harassing me and my family, stop calling my personal phone and workplace, do not talk about me publicly, and drop the erroneous charges they claim I owe them for the emotional distress theyve caused me,
