This is in regard to my senior-citizen (he's in his 70's) father's healthcare. I am unauthorized to sign any HIPAA release authorizations for him, and he does not use computers. 1/18/2023 My father underwent a wellness check at this office. He was told that it would be paid for by Medicare, and that Medicare will cover 1 wellness check appt. per year. He was billed $51.00 after this visit for something keyed in by the office as a "depression screening", so he refused to pay since he never agreed to the charge or the screening. Despite many phone calls with the provider's billing dept., they said they were unable to change the record and sent a letter threatening the issue going to a collection agency. I was eventually able to get the billing dept. to extend another 30 days before collection. That agreement was made on 07/14/2023, in order to provide time for the site office to correct the record of what was keyed in at the wellness check visit. I have called several times, and spoken with Brent at the front desk, who repeatedly tells me I will be called back by a manager because they are not currently available. I have not received a call from a manager. I asked for the manager's manager, and was told they are unavailable, and I cannot leave a message because they do not have a voicemail system. My father has another appt. scheduled for tomorrow, 7/18/2023, and I will join him in person in hopes that I can get this resolved, since calling does not seem to work.
