Date 09/18/2023 -We took our RV to ************* Repair as we smelled propane on the inside of RV. Our concern was identified and a new propane regulator was installed. At repair completion, the written billed was presented to us for $464.30 and we submitted our *********** Credit Card to pay the amount in full. The *********** Card was denied on a first and second attempt. We then gave our USAA credit card and the total amount of $464.30 was accepted and paid. A week later I (****) was reviewing my *********** account and saw that a payment of $298.00 was paid to ************* Repair on 09/18/2023. I called the business to let them know of the error and have that amount refunded to my account. The secretary said she would check into it and call me back. She said that she could not refund directly to my account, but would need to send me a check for $298.00. I said that did not make sense, but OK as long as I get refunded the money. The total now paid out = $762.30 She did not call me back so I called her the next day. At that call she informed me that the $298.00 additional amount was correct. She said that it is the owner's policy to charge double the labor cost if two techs work on the same RV. In the two years of previous work ****'s has done for us typically two techs, and my husband at times, discussed the problem and worked on our RV together. We never paid a double labor charge. We have all of our previous receipts. For this issue, we were never informed of this (new?) policy. We never received a bill/invoice for this additional charge. The charge was never mentioned at work completion or at time to pay the bill. We were never told of the charge that the business placed on our *********** card. At first, we believed this to be an innocent error. However, we now believe it to be a fraudulent act. The business is well informed of the issue and refuses to refund our $298.00. Resolution: ************* Repair refund $298.00 to us.
