I have had this planet fitness membership from the end of 2019-present. I have not gone to the club since Covid in 2020. I have tried time and time again to cancel my membership, I have gone in the club to cancel and have been pretty much told that I had to do it online or I have to pay an extra amount in order to cancel a membership. I have not gotten a single phone call or email regarding my cancellation process for the past few years. They are quick to take the money out of my account but will keep pushing me away from the cancellation. I need this resolved immediately please.Initial Complaint

I signed up my 16 year old son ***** ******* ** for a membership with Planet Fitness online in January 2023. I then proceeded to go to the facility located on Juniper Avenue to sign the consent since my son is a minor. I was told everything would be taken care of. When my son attempted to return to use the services he was told that they forgot to have me sign an additional consent when I was there and that I needed to return to sign. Since I was not able to return due to my work schedule, the membership was never activated and my son did not utilize any services after this. I did not see any charges to my bank account so I assumed this would not be an issue since I never signed the agreement. Since then, I have verified on my bank statements that my account has been charged a total of $89.53 which includes an annual fee charged. I attempted to resolve this with the club with club manager ******* as well as her supervisor ******** ******* but they said they could not reimburse me for my money paid. My son never utilized the services and the account should have never been activated as per their own policy. After seeing these charges on my bank statement, I found out the account was activated so I requested for this to be terminated via email on 4/26/23, however this was not officially cancelled until 5/15/23. I am only requesting my money back and to file a complaint regarding the unethical practices of this facility. I am requesting for the entire $85.53 to be reimbursed to me immediately. The membership was under my son’s name and his phone number is the account number (************)
