My parents-in-law to be found this supposed low cost caterer for our upcoming wedding in Fort ***** at the Light House. There a weird clause in the contract that said half deposit and no refunds on deposit. The caterer promised a wide variety of options and showed pictures of what she and her business is able to do. The caterer also shared how familiar she is with Fort ***** and how many catering events she performed at the Light House park. Some main dishes were selected but still alot of work needed to be done for other parts of the meal. The wedding was postponed and to avoid forfeiting the deposit of $2078.27, we asked the caterer to adjust the menu (not dates) to accommodate a baby shower. We asked the caterer for meal, appetizer, drink and dessert options and she neglected to be able to tell us what her business could do. She said it would be easier for us to tell her what we want and she say yes or no. That didnt make sense to us because if she was a seasoned caterer she would have service options clearly available. Nonetheless, we provided her requests and she declined being able to do the majority. We asked many times for her to provide us what she is able to do and she still gave a lot of pushback. We asked for a refund on a few occasions since she clearly could not even verbalize a service she was to provide. She refused. Several text messages and emails later, she sent over pictures that clearly were from ****** or someone elses catering business. When we finally came to an agreement on what she is able to do based on her limited menu options, she marked up prices significantly, did not share with us exactly why other than saying market price, however, market price was much below what she was listing. She also refused to give protein (filet minion and chicken) ounce sizes. Since we she already had our $2078.27, we felt like we were stuck. She was late, food was poor and ill prepared, she got away with our money. I have more documentation I can shareBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because:These are picture showing that the caterer conversed with me but not showing how the caterer provided poor service, Ill prepared food, poor customer service and was late. You do see screen shots here of how the caterer always had excuses for not performing as she promised. If she does not hold up her end of the contract I am not sure how she is able to show the contract as a piece of evidence or continue to accept that she deserves full payment. She was contracted assuming she was going to deliver based on her promise of being a good and timely caterer (providing agreed services and food )but neglected to do so and really assumed she would run away ***** free with over 2k for an event that was repurposed on the same day. It was not my fault that she tripled booked herself that day. If she was not able to perform adequately (including having the food prepared as discussed or even to restaurant standard as she insinuated) it is her responsibility to not be greedy and to not provide us trash service so she can keep the money , when she knows good and well she performed poorly and should refund. That she also contacted my parents in law to be upon receiving my bbb comply on 07Oct22 before contacting me (when from her pictures you can see she has my number and email address) is evidence that she was avoiding me because she knew she is in the wrong. That is defined as a scam. Please refund my money.
