      Good morning, My name is ******************************* and I am being harassed by American Ambulance. They are calling me nonstop over an error on a bill that isn't my fault. My daughter was rushed to the hospital by American ambulance on dec 9th with a 105 fever that was causing her to be unresponsive. Even though it was a scary situation I still gave them all of my insurance information. I have dual insurance for myself and my daughter. They billed ********** Blue Shield California and my insurance plan is ********** Blue Shield *****. When I brought this to their attention they said they needed the "correct amount to be paid by my primary insurance before they will send the bill to my secondary to cover the remaining amount." I called American ambulance to make sure I had the right Information and as it turns out, American Ambulance had billed the wrong insurance company. My primary caught the error and fixed it and paid the amount that they cover for emergency transportation. When I asked American ambulance if they can send the bill to my secondary insurance they said "no, not until your primary gives us the correct amount." My primary has paid all they will for this and my secondary says they will cover it no problem, they just need the bill. American ambulance is refusing to send my secondary insurance the bill and they are threatening to send me to collections even when my primary insurance called them explaining they are harassing me and not doing what they need to do to bill the secondary insurance just because its medi-cal.They are also calling me nonstop. Since yesterday I have received over 5 back to back phone calls from them. This is causing me more stress and I already have my hands full with my baby. Please help me!

      American Ambulance turned our daughter who has multiple lifetime disabilities over to collections without billing her secondary insurance of Medi-cal. She is fortunate enough to be dually covered with a PPO as primary. However, rather than bill Medi-cal when the PPO didn't pay them as much as they wanted, they simply went to collections. As the only ambulance offered in the Sam Joaquin Valley, I am sure they are required to accept Medi-cal. To refuse to bill it hoping to strong arm someone who lives far below the poverty line on SSI to pay is extremely unethical.
