On 6/14/2022, I bought a dog from the Fresno SPCA for $213.82 Within two days of bringing the dog home, she was lethargic, not eating or drinking, and would not even get up to go to the bathroom. I called to ask them about it and they requested I bring the dog back so their veterinarian could evaluate it. Their Vet diagnosed her with some kind of genetic heart defect and they could not guarantee she would have a long lifespan. I let them take the dog back so they could try to treat her through their rescue system. Their refund policy states buyers are eligible for refund if the animal is diagnosed with a life threatening condition. They agreed to honor the refund and said I should receive it within 4 weeks. I was told if I did not get anything, to call in order to check up on the refund status. I could not get ahold of anyone through the phone for over a week. I finally decided to try email where I was initially ignored, but eventually got a response from an employee. She told me I would have to speak to her manager BUT she is out and “she does not know when she will back.” Back and forth with this employee (I’m not allowed to speak to this manager myself apparently) she claims she got ahold of her manager and that she would be putting the check for the refund in the mail. So it had been 5 weeks since I returned the dog and they never even sent out the the refund to me in the first place. Another week later (so 6 in total now) I still have not received anything and no one has gotten back to me with an update either. No communication. So, I no longer have the dog nor my money back and these people are impossible to get ahold of. I have a copy of their refund policy they gave to me and receipt of purchase, and still have the emails stating they were mailing me the refund.
