Purchased boat motor, Honda ********* 657470, from ******* at Clovis Marine, Inc. ("CMI") on 3/31/22. Was told if we pay by credit card, there would be a credit card fee of $100, and no fee if we paid by check. A check for $3,671.32 for the boat motor was made to and payment accepted by CMI on 4/4/22. Was told the motor was in Seattle, had to be shipped, and would take approx. 2 weeks to arrive. After 3 weeks and no contact from CMI, called CMI and told the motor wasn't in yet but will be soon. After a couple more weeks and no contact from CMI, went in person to CMI. ******* advised the motor came in but was damaged, so it was sent back. She advised there was another motor in Georgia that could be shipped. After a couple more weeks and again no contact from CMI, again went in person to CMI; was told no motor in yet. Waited a couple more weeks, went to CMI and again told no motor in. Asked for our money back but told they didn't have our money. We've made approximately 6 requests for our money back to CMI since the boat motor was never provided. CMI kept telling us they didn't have our money. To date, the boat motor has not been provided. On 5/11/23, another demand for a refund was sent to CMI. No refund or a response was received.
