My wife's 2017 **** Fusion (now with 61K miles), which we bought new from Lithia, had the engine light come on. After dropping it there for a $250 diagnostic we were told that we needed a "New, $10K transmission", or they could rebuild it for $7.5K... but it may still have issues. Once again, this is a car with 61K miles on it. We were not supplied any diagnostic paperwork to show why we needed this work, we were told this by our service writer after he spoke to his service person who claimed " the transmission fluid was contanminated with metal shavings"... What? How? were my questions.I told them to button-it back up and we'd be back to pick it shortly.I then called a transmission specialty company and told them what we were just told by Lithia ******************* Thet said they'd be happy to take a look and if we needed a new or rebuilt transmission they could do the work, and guarantee it for $4.5k MAX.Three days later they called and said there was nothing wrong with our transmission after doing a double drain and unable to find ANY metal in the fluids... That cost about $500.My complaint is that Lithia service people attampted to fraudulently slamm my wifeand I into $10k of wiork that wasn't AND the service they did provide to check and replebtish the the fluids which I had to do at home as the radio was low.This isn't the first time we've had issues with Lithia. Before we purchase our new 2017 **** Fusion, we bough a 2-year old Fusion coming off lease. After driving it a month, we founf out that all of the sound insulation had been removed and that car was most likely used for trafficking drugs up from ******. We took $1200.00 loss on getting our from under that Lithia POS.
