Mr. Mark B***** working under Bar ID: ARD00291781 business name Tailored customs located at **** N ***m Avenue suite 1 Fresno CA ***** entered an agreemant with Mr. **** H ****** titled estimate ID 441**46. In which 24,268.30 was to be paid by Mr. ****** in exchange for auto body and paints restoration of a 1960 El Camino. This agreement was initiated on 3/2/2020 at which time a down payment of two thousand dollars was put towards the agreement. This date began the process for completion of repairs. One thousand dollars (a monthly minimum) was to be installed until the said amount was paid. They removed my bumpers and trims and my car sat in his shop for a year without being worked on. When he finally took the paint off to do body work he said he would need another 5 thousand. I reluctantly agreed. He then completed metal work and told me it cost all16 thousand i had paid. An ending of agreement was initiated by Mr. B*****, 7/22/2021 at which time approximately 16 thousand dollars was paid. Mr. ****** did not receive the services agreed upon per the initial agreement. Mr. B***** stated "i am ready to walk away from this project".Mr. B***** would not let me take my car home without signing a document that he wrote and he had a contract ready for me to sign before I could take my car home. He added notes within the contract stating we both agreed everything was fair and I was satisfied with labor provided. He also wrote I only removed car from his shop because I was looking at overseas employment. All of this was written by him making it seem I said all these things and that was the reason work stopped. I signed this contract under duress fearing for my vehicle and what would happen if I didn’t get it out of his shop. My contract was for body and paint. I received neither. When Mr. B***** claimed he could paint my car for me, he told me it would be show quality with all door gaps and spacing exact, he even claimed he would reassemble the vehicle free of charge. In the end I only received teardown and metal work which Mr. B***** states is not body work, (body work is bondo). Mr. B***** claimed the metal work would be 5k and in the end he claimed the metal work was worth 16k, if he would have given me a teardown estimate as required i would never have agreed. this is procedure he put me through is a typical bait and switch scam, in which the business promises one thing and tricks you into buying something you dident want. I **** ****** am dissatisfied with the business practices from Tailored Customs Owner Mark B*****; His actions in retro-spec seem deliberately misleading and unfair. The bureau of automotive repair investigated and found Mr. B***** should refund me monies but Mr. B***** refuses. Bureau of Automotive Repair cannot force him to refund me monies although it has found it should happen as his practices/ paperwork are unsound. I will end up sueing Mr. B***** and his wife for this ordeal. i am trying to resolve this in all other methods before that occurs. Mr. B***** was disrespectful and unwilling to communicate at all once he had my money that he knew i could not get back. Buyers beware.
