I bought two boxes of yellow raisins and both boxes have dark and shriveled up on both boxes, i dealt with customer service they said they will send out replacement coupons after a long wait they gave me 4 coupons that require you to buy two boxes and save a dollar, when customer service said they will send out replacement coupons, customer service said there treated with Sulfur Dioxide (Sulfites) and been stored wrong at the store or transported wrong, this has never happened in over 50 years to me. and customer service has lied to me after forgetting to send me anything, and I had to call 2 times.Business response

Hello,The consumer has contacted us for the Golden raisins that have darker color. In the manufacturing of Golden Raisins, Grapes undergoes a process of Sulfur Dioxide application and have tendency to turn darker over storage and time. There is no food Safety risk associated with this.As our standard process we explained to the consumer the reason behind Goldens turning darker over time and had send him coupons. We had not heard back from him after we sent him the coupons.After receiving compliant from BBB we have re-established contact with the consumer on 1/16/23 and will be sending replacement product purchase coupon, the consumer has agreed to the next steps and resolution.Thanks*******Customer response

To whom it may concern: My name is Mr ****, I have been a loyal customer to Sun-Maid for over 30decades, and Sun-Maid has been around over a century before I was born. I’m still a customer but I have a problem with your customer service, human relationship department and your ****** insurance team. I bought and purchased a product from your corporation and at that point I was eating some of your raisins, there were items inside of the box that cracked two of my fillings, I sent the items to your corporation, they admitted that it was their product. I believe the pieces were something from the machinery that broke off and got in some of your boxes. The young lady at Sun-Maid, Ms ****** submitted it to a ***** car insurance company who was so disrespectful to me and as well as to my family. When speaking with ****** insurance, they don't know what I'm talking about, when speaking with ******, they referred my claim as like a car accident incidence, and they were not going to do anything about the claim. However, here is the attachment of the bill of my claims, I would like this bill to be paid in full. I'm speaking to my legal team at this time, I'm already a millionaire. I do not need Sun-Maid raisins money, I will still purchase Sun-Maid product but I would like to get my dental work taken care of ASAP and resolve this matter nicely. I will be waiting on a response, if not ,I will post on the internet and as well as speaking to my attorney the different disregard and disrespect to me from Sun-Maid raisin. I appreciate your time, I look forward to resolving this issue and continuing to be a loyal customer to Sun-Maid corporation. Thank you. I cannot seem to reach anyone who can make corporate decisions, but only received unprofessional, unqualified represenatives. This is Sun-Maid’s response to the subject complaint as requested in your email of Dec. 27, 2022. One of the attachments to your email was a denial from ***** insurance. We were not able to open the file. This complain was referred to ***** because of the consumer’s demands that we considered unreasonable. Specifically, Mr. **** wanted compensation for time lost in his occupation. Sun-Maid is a food company that strives to provide superior products to its customers. When a consumer contacts us with a properly documented complaint, we generally resolve it to their satisfaction internally. However, we are not equipped to investigate complex consumer complaints with no valid documentation, or unreasonable demands that exceed the standards of a fair resolution. To assure a reasonable and equitable resolution, such complaints are referred to ***** for investigation by experienced professionals, and we comply with ******* conclusions regardless whether they favor the consumer or Sun-Maid. In Mr. ****’s case, ***** apparently concluded that his complaint was not valid based on the available information. Perhaps the denial letter will explain ******* decision. Due to ******* history of knowledgeable and unbiased resolutions over the past 20 years as Sun-Maid’s insurer, Sun-Maid remains committed to concurring with them. However, if we learn that in this case ***** erred in its conclusion, we will ask them to re-open the matter and investigate it further.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
My name is ** ****, thank you for your response. First and foremost, hopefully you're having a great day Ms. ** ** *****. I have ***** insurance as well, personal insurance. ******* is an insurance company that represents auto accidents, collision for homes damages, and sometimes floods. The representative that was speaking on ******* behalf working for the Sun-Maid corporation, she did not know anything-clueless in this matter, she was speaking to me as I was in a car accident. I kept explaining to her I didn't work for Sun-Maid and I was not in a car accident, they should have had a professional that handles these type of civil personal matters, not in car accident representative.
Secondary, Sun-Maid has destroyed the product that I submitted to the corporation and if you read the emails, they investigated this product and they knew this was a part of their product, this was something from their company machinery. This was not something foreign that I put in their product or something I made up. I sent everything to the Sun-Maid corporation and when they reviewed it, they found out this was something that was for from their product and what they did was, they destroyed the pieces that I mailed them in the mail , but if you read my emails where she responded, she didn't say this was not something in their product. In regards to my work request, I'm a millionaire and I work for millionaires and billionaires, I’ve been buying the Sun-Maid product for 30 years and I still will continue to buy the product, but the negligence of the Sun-Maid corporation treating my claim frivolously and passing it around hoping that it'll go away. But what I'm going to do is continue to post emails and social media in this grievance or companies. I appreciate your Better Business Bureau and all your time and all your help, but if you cannot help me, I will continue to do my own diligent responses by putting the information on social media that Sun-Maid did not take care one of their customers.

It is almost impossible to navigate through the Sun-maid website to contact them, but there is a problem with Sun-maid vanilla yogurt raisins 6 to a package. This is twice that ALL the individual boxes are not glued at the bottom, so that when you take a box out (1oz individual) to have a snack, the bottom comes unglued and the contents fall out. We looked at the other boxes (5 left) and they are not glued on the bottom. If they are tring to save money and omit the glue, we will go to another brand. To spend almost $ 3.00 on a six ounce package of 6 one ounce individual box snack is foolish. Sun-Maid needs to be more involved in quality control AND look into their faulty website. I wanted to contact them, but it was impossible.Business response

Hello,Sunmaid consumer affairs team has made contact with customer ***** ********* on 04/01/2022. Customer accepted a couple of replacement that was mailed on 04/01/2022 to the address provided by the customer.Sunmaid performed an internal investigation on the issue experienced with our Vanilla Yogurt Raisins boxes. All production records, Line down time records, Quality records were reviewed and no signification events were identified that could lead to the issue observed by our customer. At this time the issue is categorized as an isolated incident. Sunmaid will keep doing their due diligence in finding the root cause of the issue during upcoming production.Thanks******* *******Customer response
