08/14/23 D.W. Ewing was hired to move our stuff that was already packed in boxes. They only moved about one half that was ready to go. They said they didnt have the time. Though they had the time to steal from us. I found a piggy bank in the floor empty that had been sitting on a table earlier that day full of pennies, and another piggy bank full of pennies went missing. I have no idea what else they may have taken. The company claims that they did what they were paid for. There was too much left behind for them to claim they didnt have enough time. They were too busy stealing from us. And they were told exactly what they were supposed to take. They even claimed they couldnt get our refrigerator out of the house. So that got left behind. I am just not happy how things went. They werent doing what they were paid for. I paid them to move our things to a storage unit, Not to empty piggy banks and stealing from us. The address where this happened was in ******* **********. The street address was ******************. The company was paid in two payments of $410.00 and $537.50 for a total of $947.50. What a waste of money. ************************* ****************************************************************************************** ******************* **************

      Business response

      09/11/2023

We received a call from a family friend of ******************** from church stating they had lost a parent, we're being evicted, and badly needed help. She felt compelled to call and get involved because she felt **************** couldn't sort this out on her own, but warned us that she would try and get over us at some point, so to be careful in dealing with her. However, we felt empathetic to the situation and wanted to help. We connected with **************** directly and she made it clear they were on a tight budget and we both agreed we'd get as much done as we could in the amount of time her budget allowed. Both parties knew not everything would be able to be moved while working within the budget. We attempted to work with **************** on figuring out what possessions were the priority, but she struggled to define that for us. She knew coming up with payment would be a challenge and told us she would call and confirm she had the money the day before. When our crew arrived on the job we were taken aback at the amount of stuff in the home (picture attached). The refrigerator could not physically be taken out of the house because of all the stuff in the way, it was physically impossible. Unfortunately, they were on a time crunch and needed more help than we could provide on the budget allowed. **************** called us with this complaint and we explained why not everything could not be moved in such a small amount of time, including the refrigerator and informed her we could not refund her payment. Our crews have never been accused of stealing before, I don't have reason to believe they'd start now with a child's piggy bank.
