My wife and I are first time homebuyers and decided to go with Century Communities due to the difficulty of the market and thought it would be nice to have a brand new home. First off the builders are complete garbage. Watching our home being built there were constant cracked/splintered boards being used to build the house, concrete pads were cracked in spots, cracked shingles, flooring with holes, PUNCURED WATER LINES that leak all over your house, and there are multiple defects within the interior and exterior that they tried to cover up instead of fixing/replacing. We were assured this would all be fixed during our warranty period. Unfortunately, the warranty claims are where the real nightmares begin. If you are UNLUCKY enough to end up with Adam H**** in the California Central Valley as your Customer Warranty Rep, then I feel for you. He is by far the worst person they have working in this company and I can't believe he was ever qualified to work in "Customer Service." He never answers his phone, never responds to email or texts, and the very few times I have confronted him or he's answered, still nothing gets resolved. We have been in our house for a year as of yesterday and I still have several warranty claims submitted that have yet to be resolved from when we moved in. I still can't even get screens for my upstairs windows!! He literally will only schedule one issue at a time to be as inconvenient as he can and make you miss as much work as possible for the repairs. Honestly, most of the time HE DOESN'T EVEN SCHEDULE THEM and no one ever shows up. I try to get him to confirm the appointments and of course he ignores me and doesn't answer. I have now resorted to trying to EMAIL his boss (email because they won't give out his phone number), Paul D****, in an effort to get him involved. And even he never responds. I am still fighting to get warranty issues checked off, and can't get anyone to respond to me. This is 100% the WORST BUILDER! Run Away!!

Do not buy from Century. We have had a horrible experience that I would not want anyone to deal with. We wanted to purchase a home in Dec. 2020, they would not let us because the lot we wanted was not “live” yet. However, we did get to choose the lot we wanted and pre plot the house we wanted the way we wanted it. Once the lot was finally live and we could sign contract they had risen the price over $20,000. They were raising the price $3-5k every couple weeks. Some price raises were due to rising material costs, which I understand. However, they admitted that for every 3 sales they make they raise the base price. They took advantage of the market and screwed over people who had been ready to purchase for months. Once we purchased the house and construction began and whole new set of issues arose. First, we noticed during the framing process that they had framed our house wrong. We walked inside on our own time and noticed they left out a bedroom upstairs. This was only caught because we happened to sneak in and take a peak. Had we not done so, it would have been a mess to fix at the end of building. During another peak through we noticed they had put the wrong flooring in. After moving in the list of issues grew exponentially. Our floors were bouncing on the edges because they did not use enough leveling mix which created large gaps under our baseboards. Which we were told “just caulk it yourself”… I did not accept that and the floors are set to be fixed in January, (we moved in early Sept). There were several dings and chips in our drawers and cabinets, we did not receive soft close on our drawers and cabinets (it’s has been 90% resolved), our flooring was trimmed poorly around the edges of our bathrooms exposing our foundation, our doors were left with jagged frayed wood on the bottom where they were trimmed, paint was left on the floor and hardware to which we were also told “just chip it off with your nails”, the grout throughout the house is completely cracked, the list goes on. Multiple people in this neighborhood are dissatisfied with the mediocre job done. Tommy F**** is the construction manager and he needs to take a closer look at the work his contractors are doing or hire new ones who take pride in their work. Not ones who rush and force the homeowners to call in fix it orders after moving in. The inconvenience of having to leave work to go to my house to get something fixed that should have just been done correctly in the first place is ridiculous. For how much money we paid, we will not accept mediocrity.

Avoid ! Avoid ! Avoid ! Avoid ! Avoid this builder !!!!!! I had terrible experience since the time I signed the contract. They lie outright and make false promises at the time of the purchase. They sold me a house “quick move in” Lot *** ** ********* community for which the closing got delayed 3-4 times. As mentioned by the other reviewer PGE Meter issues. (Looks like this is their standard excuse). Eventually at the time of walk thru they have dirty floor in the house and they mentioned that it’s their standard policy to not clean the house before handing over the keys !!!! Yes !! You read it right !!! They will not clean the house before handling the keys !!! It’s their standard policy !!! They even said that they have seen handing over the house in much worst condition… There were many other issues .. very arrogant staff , poor customer service .. many many quality issues … The threshhold of a 100 year old home would have looked better than the threshhold of this "new door". I had backed out just before escrow closing and have lost my EMD. Beware anyone buying from this builder....
