On 1/28/23 I paid this business $240.00 to replace the front windshield of my 2010 Ford Flex. We did not even drive the car after the replacement as the wipers needed replacement and it’s been freezing in the mornings and raining. A few days later, on or about 1/30/23 we purchased replacement blades and when my husband went to install them he noticed a large crack in the windshield. Our receipt says there’s a 30 day to 12 month warranty but only if you have receipt. I immediately contacted their office. They asked me to bring the car to their location, which my husband did today, only to be told that the windshield is broken from either a rock or my husband did it when he replaced the wipers! The owner, ***** ****** speaks no English but told her English speaking employee this information. I had my business partner contact ***** directly as she is bilingual. Ms ****** again refused to make things right and would not agree to replace the windshield for less than $170! I originally paid $240 so that’s only $70 less than I originally paid. Through my partner I offered her $120 and made it clear that if she didn’t make it right I would l leave her a bad review and seek further action. She refused. When we asked her what the warranty covered and what good was it if she wouldn’t honor it, she simply refused to answer and cooperate in any way. After the call I checked her reviews and there are several one star reviews with very similar circumstances. They seem to repeatedly do these kinds of things and they are getting away with it. There was no problem speaking to me until I had a complaint. Now suddenly they don’t speak English and can’t help me. Beyond frustrating

this is E**** C***** owner of Los amigos auto glass. On the day 1/28/2023 we completed a ford flex. When we left the job was done and the glass was not broken. The husband inspected the car and paid us for the job $240. A***** contacted us on February 2nd saying her windshield was broken. We responded for her to bring in the car so we can inspect the windshield. the husband brought in The car on February 7th we inspected it and it looks like something hit the windshield and it’s broken. Our warranty does not cover broken glass. We felt bad for him so we offered a discount we can replace the windshield for $170. He didn’t say anything and left the shop. Later on A***** called us saying that we have to replace the windshield Beacuse it’s part of the warranty. We did explain to her that on the receipt it states what our warranty is and it does not cover broken glass. Whether it be a rock hit or someone or something hitting the glass. (Our warranty Only covers leaks and air coming into the car) we told her the same thing as her husband we can replace the windshield for a discount $170. She told us she was only willing to pay $120 and if we didn’t agree she would report us and leave us bad reviews . We told her to do what ever she wanted because we know we left the glass in good conditions not broken. We were trying to help by giving them a discount of $70. She said no.

-We can replace the windshield for $170
We cannot give her a full refund with a broken glass or replace it for free because the glass was not broken by us. When we left the job site it was inspected by the husband and he approved it and  he paid us. We left and we don’t know what happened after that.

-Jessica I don’t like that the client are not satisfied with our work. We want a solution to help both parties. Thank you

-Here’s some pictures of the broken glass. And the copy of the receipt of what our warranty states

I am rejecting this response because:

First of all the response you received was not from the owner as when I spoke with the owner she did not speak one word of English and it became necessary for my bilingual Spanish speaking business partner, ******* F****** to speak to her. We had the owner on speaker phone and ******* relayed everything she said to me while my husband was standing there at their shop. She (the owner() blamed us for the chip stating my husband either broke the windshield when he changed the wipers or we hit a rock. I sent her a photo of the crack within days and and at no time did she say to me “we don’t” cover cracks. She asked me to bring the car to her shop to see what they could do. I’ve attached a screenshot of the messages. We are in no way responsible for the faulty windshield! WE NEVER DROVE THE CAR. After the replacement we needed new windshield wipers so we left the car, right where they changed it for the few days between the install and the discovery of the crack. Also, Tad never inspected the windshield and never paid. I myself, ****** S****, paid the $220 (I paid an extra $20 for mobile service) plus I gave the two gentlemen an extra $60 cash to diagnose the problem with the driver side window of our  2004 Volkswagen bug. One of the men got the window rolled up and told me someone would call me Monday with a quote for a window regulator, which is the part needed (which they never did, I called them)I looked at the glass and it appeared fine but the crack, which obviously spread over days, was at the wiper line and not visible unless you got close up to the window. The owner never apologized and was rude and unaccommodating in any way so my husband left. The owner (again through interpretation) said the company would not give her any credit so she would not give me any. In the end, after I offered her I believe $120 she again refused, demanding $170 or nothing. That’s basically $30 off as I was originally quoted $200 if I came to them. I do not believe this is fair or reasonable in any way. My receipt says 30 day warranty. If you look at the business reviews they have numerous similar complaints. I called the office to speak with the lady who helped me and spoke English and she agreed with me that more should be done to help me but told me she had to go by what the owner decides. The owner did not come to my home, has her facts wrong and even after sent a photo of the crack or defect or whatever it is never said to me your warranty doesn’t cover this issue. (See attached screenshot of conversation). The car is still not been driven and is sitting in the same spot where her workers left particles and pieces in the street. Tad noticed the crack BEFORE he replaced the windshield, so he did not cause it and no rock magically hit my car that’s parked in front of my house. This is subpar faulty work and unsteady of being apologetic in any manner the owner was rude to us, blamed us and basically refused to do anything so I told her I would leave her a negative review and take further action, which is exactly what I’m doing. Thank you.

Hello, I'm responding again to A***** S**** yes I asked her to bring us the car to check if it was broken by itself or if it was hit by something or someone. when we looked at the windshield it was obvious something hit the windshield. We don't offer warranty on broken glass also There was no glass defect because it was not broken by it self. Something hit the glass after we left.  And again when we finished the job we had them checked the work and we got paid. nothing was wronged with the glass when left.
When A*****'s husband was here in our shop was never rude with him. I told him I was sorry the glass was broken so soon after we installed it. I offered him a discount and I wrote it on the receipt and signed it. after he left. later A***** was calling us we explained everything about our warranty and everything I had told her husband. we can only give her a discount for a new glass it would be $170. She said she's only willing to pay $120 which I refuse at the time. She threatened me with bad reviews. It was very unlucky that the windshield was broke again so soon but it was not our fault. And she has to pay again to get it reinstalled.

Like I said before the only thing I can do for them is give them a discount to replace the windshield. However in order to fix this problem in the best way possible if she accepts I can do $120 to replace the windshield installed in our shop in Fresno 2277 S G ST Fresno CA 93721

5/21/21- A broken window(the drivers side) and a part of the door was to be replaced. I paid a total of 165. I waited 2 weeks for the part to be ordered. As I am driving down the freeway, I press the button to raise the window. The entire glass almost came out. I managed to hold on to it from the inside. There was steaks of glue All across the glass. I called the office and file a complaint on line as well , they said they don’t know what work they did on the car and to bring my receipt. From my understanding the part was suppose to be used and not glue, that’s why the glass slide off. I said I have my receipt from the bank because it was paid for with my debit card. But nothing other was given to me, there was a verbal agreement. That day one of the employees left my keys in the car as well, they had to call a locksmith to take them out, and there’s was a lot of things going on. Their driver had to bring me home. Today I asked if they could look in their records, they said, she does not have any of what was done to the car. They charged me 20 dollars additionally to repair what they didn’t do right in the first place and what could have turned into an accident. I’ve never had a problem with any other the windows. It’s not normal for the glass to come out of the window in any situation. I need my car for work/family so after an hour of talking to this person gave in. However, I would like to highlight the carelessness of this company. First, how are they not documenting and filing what type of work they are doing on cars. Second, they are using glue to repaired parts dangerously because the window could have hit another car or myself. If glue is allowed the quality is very cheap and risky. On top of that they refuse to fix the problem without any additional fees.

Good afternoon, we need to see your receipt to know what day and what job was done to your vehicle. The job does have warranty and we will replace the part that needs to be replaced when you come into our shop with your receipt. We do let our customers know to save the receipt for any warranties. Without the receipt we would not know when the job was done and what part was installed in which vehicle. When a customer comes in to our shop with a warranty we ask for the receipt and we replace the part that needs to be replaced. Without a receipt, we would not know if the job was done by us at Los Amigos Auto Glass. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:

I don’t need anything from this company. I explained everything in my previous message. This company refused to work with me to address the problem when it occurred, I had to pay for them to correct it,  and I had to reach out to a third party to address this issue. It is until now that I actually hear from them that there is a way to look my information up and see what type of work was done on my vehicle. It is shameful that a third party had to get involved for them be willing to cooperate with a customer. Next time be honest from the beginning. I don’t need or want anything from this business but to bring attention to how they carry out business. Thank you.
