As others have said this company is practicing predatory towing. For those who cannot pay their exorbitant fees they auction off the car and keep the profits taking advantage of the most vulnerable people in society.Review from Cassie P

A couple of nights ago, my car got wrongfully towed by this company. I was parked outside of a 24-hour donut place for about 25 minutes and within 15 minutes, my car got towed. Not only was it wrongfully towed but damages were done to my car as well. Upon arrival of getting my car, I was charged $600 to get my car. After paying, I was presented with a paper showing "damages" on my car and the breakdown of my charges. The damage that was done to my car was done by then. They denied it multiple times and would not show me pictures they took of my car before towing (if they even did take photos). They made me sign the paper or they would not give me back my car even after I just paid for it, which she had also charged me $100 more than what she originally told me. all in all, on top of paying $600 to get my car out $1,000 in repairs + a new tire there so happened a nail appeared it once I got in my car.... This is by far the most unprofessional place I have ever experienced. I was nice with the staff upon arrival and they provided me with the worst customer service you could ever imagine. They scam you, are disrespectful, and unprofessional, and do not make you feel safe whatsoever.Review from Susan S

Our church was helping an underserved individual retrieve their car which was towed from her apt. It was towed on a Friday and tow yard closed until Monday= accumulation of more fees. Person on phones for this business told her $795 to get car out and was also told that since she had lost her license a photo of it was ok. I got the $795 in cash to get her car and we went there.but no, young man working there with *********** on said price had increased to $827 and could not take picture of her license. I was able to give mine and paid the additional cash. When receipt written up the tow charge was $317; lein fee $70; storage $95.90 and labor fee $130. He then totaled it as $ 897 (wrong) but took the $827. Very rude person as well. It just all seemed sketchy.Review from Mary R

I would like to relate an unpleasant experience with this company. I belong to a charitable organization that works with people who are experiencing difficult times. This week we were trying to help a client get her car out of the Night Star Towing lot after it had been towed from her apartment complex. She had left it in an alley overnight so the tow was legitimate. But getting the car back was a nightmare. The tow took place on an early Saturday morning and the charge she was told was $500 to get the car back. But she could not get the car until Monday and the charge by then would be $600. On Monday, when she called to find out the current charge, she was told that it would be $780. Also the amount they told me when I called. They do not take credit/debit cards from anyone other than the owner, who in this case has no credit/debit cards that she could use. Our only option was to pay with cash. By the time we could make the arrangements for that, and also arrange to meet our client at the tow company, it was late in the afternoon and the cost had gone up to $827, even though it was still the same day. Our team member had only brought the cash in the amount of $780 which was the total we were quoted. Our representative fortunately had cash of her own and paid the difference because if we came back the next day, the cost would be another $95 - at least. There is no doubt that this is a scam because most people who show up with just the amount it would take to retrieve the car would end up having to come back another day, thus paying extra amounts. I have read the ****** reviews and the reviews below and this company seems like quite a predator and takes advantage of every opportunity to cheat the people who are usually in dire straits already. I know that in this case, our client was at fault by leaving her car in the wrong place, but she could never have gotten her car back without our help. Apparently this is how Night Star does it's business.Review from Rey R

Horrible customer service bad business practice quoted 412 dollars at 8pm at night and confirmed that the price will be the same if you pick up before 1pm the next day came to the facility and charged 507 dollars they called and spoke with the manager **** which nobody knows anyones last name at the company. They have the calls showing I made them but they did not honor the price. If zero stars existed I would.Review from Jacob J

If I could not even give them one star, I would. That's how bad they are. They price ***** and add costs for everything and anything hiding behind the fact that they are a private towing company. As speculated by other reviews on yelp and on here, we too believe that they have an insider who tells them which car to tow in exchange for something, because the business wasn't yet closed when they had already towed the car, so how did they know we weren't a customer at *************? They charge an after hours fee even though their working/open hours are still functioning. Charge a 4% additional for using a credit card, ridiculous, because who carries around the $700 they charge in cash with them. Mind you it had only been about *********************************************** their possession. They demand you hand over your keys to go through your car and look for the registration, saying that's just how they do it, they won't let you get it yourself, and if you don't they wont move forward with the process. They do a whole power trip on you. Then they have you sign their release which states the car had scratches which you know it didn't, and they won't allow you to see the car before signing this release, so there's no way of you seeing the condition in which they will hand over your car. They have been accused of far more on yelp as well by others, they've mentioned having parts of their car stolen before they've gotten their car back. Speak up for your rights, you never know if they will put something in your car or remove your belongings and simply state they weren't there.Review from Adel R

"Caution: Exercise caution when dealing with this predatory towing company. My encounter with them was extremely frustrating, as they prevented me from inspecting my car or retrieving belongings until I signed a release form. Consequently, I discovered significant damage only after signing. Even though I recorded my interaction and documented the car's condition, the manager dismissed any wrongdoing. To assist others, I recommend pursuing legal action, documenting everything meticulously, and researching the company online for insights into their practices. Don't hesitate to utilize small claims courtit's a straightforward process that could lead to a favorable outcome."Review from Catalina V

Unprofessional and fraudulent. I parked my car In front of my garage with the windows down on private property. Tow truck driver gets in my car, sounds the alarm and takes it. I called and asked why they towed it and the rude receptionists said it was in a fire lane. I dont know how my garage is considered a fire lane. Then as I continued to ask how much would the fee be she said $412 total. I then told her thats ridiculous it hasnt even been 20 min since my car has been in the lot, she then cut me off and said if you dont agree then take us to court and *** us, it seems to me shes used to saying that. My apartment building is less than 2 miles from the lot they had it in. I believe the charge is fraudulent due to the fact that they can charge by the mile but decide to charge the most for a ********** in a local area where theyre business is located. There are many reviews with similar fee complaints online how has this business still able to do this with such a bad reputation?Review from Leo P

If I could leave zero stars I would! 1st off I believe this company is in business with the property management at ********************* because they're ALWAYS there waiting to tow KNOWING there's no parking and the building changed ownership. I called to get the address and amount owed to get my car, was told $285 by *********. I get there and I'm told there's a 4% fee if I'm not paying cash. I asked to know be shown where it states this? Was rudely told by 2 women "that's just the way it is". I was then pointed to a sign (behind gated black doors, stuck to a window) that there's a 3.9% discount if you pay with cash. Well, that doesn't sound the same to me, but for the sake of not arguing and just wanting my car, I paid the fee. She didn't like my response (I admit, it wasn't nice), so she proceeded to tell me that I'd have to WAIT for the police to arrive before she'd give me my car. Full payment had been made and the CC receipt signed, yet she wouldn't give me my car. When the **************** arrived, they asked for my property and were told they didn't have a driver to bring my car out. We were then told that my battery died, and they didn't have a way to charge it. HORRIBLE experience when you're already stressed about the fact that your car has been impounded. They should NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO TO BUSINESS THIS WAY.
