I purchased eight windows for my house from IWC (International Window Company) in 2009. They have a lifetime warranty. Two window pane seals have failed and are clouded with moisture. A third window is actually leaking when it rains. After some research on your website I learned the company went bankrupt in 2011, and the company that purchased IWC from bankruptcy is not obligated to honor the warranty. I have uploaded pictures of the failed panes. Can you help?Thank you.

IWC claims that the corporation was bankrupt and any windows installed prior to 2011 are not covered by the lifetime warranty. We have attempted to contact this Homeowner several times and have not had a response from him.  If he returns our calls, we will be happy to assist him with new glass, no labor.

In **** I had construction/addition on my house. We replaced all windows and went with IWC windows. 16 windows and 3 slider doors. Over the years there have been many failures with the windows from cracks, clouding and warping. They came with a lifetime warranty but when I called to get the problems fixed I was told (read a script actually) that IWC went bankrupt in **************************** 2011 and they now don't honor any of the warrantees from before the bankruptcy. Is this legal? Shouldn't they have to honor their previous warranty if they are still in business?

International Window filed Bankruptcy in 2011 and was subsequently purchased later that year from Bankruptcy Court.  The purchaser purchased the assets and intellectuals and the liabilities of the former company were not part of the purchase.  We do attempt to work with Customers that purchased from the former International by reduced costs, referrals to Dealers to fix issues but many Customers only want the issues fixed with no charges to them. We are unable to take full responsibility for the products from the former company.

How do I know this is true? How do I know that the new purchaser of the company was allowed to buy everything but the liabilities??!?? Why would a court allow a company to pull this scam about every ten years or so?!?  Same companysame warranty. They are still offering that lifetime warranty and they will escape it again through bankruptcy court again?!?  Someone needs to stop them!!!!

Can BBB verify that they dont still hold the warranty liability from before the bankruptcy??

Some consumers may elect to not publish the details of their complaints, some complaints may not meet BBB's standards for publication, or BBB may display a portion of complaints when a high volume is received for a particular business.
