On 1/28/21 i took my 3 weeks kitten to north orange county emergency in fullerton my daughter ayah alakeli made a reservation for a visit for the kitten SIMBA emergency check up will cost $ 85 after giving the kitten to the clerck we were asked to wait in the car which was ******************************************************************************** the clinic for 8 hours to receive treatment . i asked how much will cost they said will call u with quotation we waited 40 min no one called so i had to knock on the door to talk to a clerk, then waited another 15 minutes to get the quote it was around $1400 and it might go up to $2000 . i decided to take the kitten home hoping to take him to regular vet clinic the next day .they demand $85 payment for the check up ,but they wont tell me what is wrong with my kitten , i asked tell me at least what is wrong with my kitten the answer was we dont know yet so i had to pay the amount in order to release my kitten BY THE WAY I COULDNT FIND ANY CLINIC TO TAKE MY KITTEN IN BECAUSE IT WAS SATURDAY AND ALL BOOKED , ON SUNDAY MORNING FOUNT THE KITTEN DEAD ,Business response

Thank you for your feedback. I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your kitten. I reviewed your pet's medical records. I see that our doctor did a physical exam on your kitten (this was the $85 charge). She then recommended hospitalizing your kitten for treatment, as well as recommended some testing to try to determine a diagnosis for your pet. Doctors cannot always determine the cause of an illness from a physical exam alone. Blood testing is sometimes needed.
Our records show that you declined all treatment and testing and, against medical advice, took your kitten home.
I understand that you are upset that you had to wait to talk to the doctor but, as you discovered, all the local pet emergency rooms are currently filled to capacity. Our staff is doing their best to see as many pets as they can in a timely manner. We ask that all our pet parents try to have patience when they visit the emergency room.
If you would like to discuss where you feel we could have done something differently to change the outcome, please give me a call at our ******************** I have issued a refund for your $85 exam fee.
