I had my roof replaced in August of 2022, due to multiple layers of shingles and deteriorated wood. I signed on for financing which became due and payable (in installments) starting 4/21/2024. Prior to making my first payment, I had asked the roofing company for a copy of my roofing permit, signed by the City of *********. The copy they provided was not signed nor dated, by an official city of Hawthorne representative. I had also requested a copy of my roof warranty, which they never provided. In addition, I specifically asked for a breakdown of materials and labor, which they never provided (my husband was in the construction industry and has frequently told me that some contractors over buy materials so they can pass that discounted cost on to the next customer). The company, **********************, has not returned my repeated calls and texts to obtain the aforementioned documents. The finance company, Goodleap, has been harassing me even though they know the circumstances of my attempts to obtain the documents that I was promised at the signing of the contract. Oh, and Efficient had NEVER scheduled the final inspection on my roof, which means that as of April 2024, my roof was considered non-compliant due to not having passed final inspection. I have been to ******************* twice in person, and on the phone several times.

3/30/2024 Efficient Construction completed a roof project on 3/14/2024. The project costs $34,000 USD. Shortly before completing the project on March 6, there was light rain in *******, **. Even with light rain, there was a leak in the den. The company came out and said they fixed it by 3/13/2024. There is heavy rain that started 3/29/2024 and there is a leak in the same area that was supposed to have been fixed. Now, I need to have all my attic check since I am worried that there are leaks I can't readily see. I've called all my contacts: Office **************; Project Manager **************; and Product Manager ************** and nobody has responded. I am rejecting this response because I had to call the business almost daily to have them complete the services.  They completed the services; however, I have asked the contacts to provide me with the information that the City approved the work and my warranty.  I have copies of the warranty paper that a staff member brought; however, I still do not have the City approval confirmation that they should have in their records.

Efficient Construction replaced my roof from 5/2/2022 to 5/23/2022 and I paid them $27,000.They guaranteed me a 30 year warranty on my roof. However, the roof is leaking over the first floor bathroom and back door side room area.I also sent them pictures and videos of the problem by phone messages.I have been calling them every time it rains since 2022.The first time they came and covered the roof with plastic sheets. After that they promise to come to check and fix, but never show up.

Efficient construction was efficient in painting our house. They sold us on a lifetime paint and had the job completed in under three weeks. But when we asked them to come back out and have a look at the cracks in the paint, it took them about four months to recognize their error. it is now been eight months and they still have not come to fix the problem claiming they dont have time

I am rejecting this response because:

while the weather may be unfavorable this week, it has been a year you have been ignoring the need to finish the job at our house. Your most recent survey was April 2023 where you recognized the paint was cracking and told us youd confirm a time to come back and finish the work. Many months have since passed. Please  report to us your planned course of action schedule a time in the future.

      02/21/2024

In response to **** ******** We have been back and forth with Mr. **** ******** about this complaint we explained that it was never in the contract for us to do the security gate and bars and told ******************** that the paint we had was only for paint on the outside and would not be compatible with the bars and gate. Efficient Construction was not including bars and gates it in the contract . In conclusion we went out and assessed the price of the repair and he was not satisfied and there is nothing else we can do other provide the service and he will have to pay for it because it was not a responsibility on our end. We have however been in communication with the homeowner and trying to resolve the issue as best we could.

      Complaint: 21098031

I am rejecting this response because: The only reason they got the job is because we asked them about the security gates and bars, and when we spoke to their representative, he assured us that he could do the rust resistant paint. To make it even worse, they put in the contract no verbal agreements acknowledged, which means they knew exactly what they were doing by telling us one thing and putting something different in writing on the documentation they put that they were going to do the trimming even if that was the case the trimming is still rusting so they came out here under the auspices that they were going to do the correct job  and did not. Please also be aware that several times their agents have come out here and told us that they were going to assess the situation to make it right one guy even came out here and began to do the work and was told to stop and sent back to his office.

      Sincerely,

      Boss ********

In response to Boss ******** Efficient Construction has been out to the owners home several times to resolve the matter. We have tried to compromise with him we are not responsible for the work he is looking for we did not offer that in the contract. We also sent a representative to give him an estimate with a discount and ******************** was not satisfied. We have exhausted all options we are not able to resolve this issue amicably.

This company represented as Roofing experts who use best materials, craftsman level staff and stellar service and support. They overpromise and under deliver. They price jobs, obtain permits which are undervalued and inaccurate to the work they charge and indicate on contracts. They improperly prep, fail to clean ********** to provide itemized proof of whats done, bully, make additional promises and use inferior products. They present as reasonable, yet do not honor their word and side step processes ie city inspector, et al.They damaged my property and sent unqualified individuals to make repairs. The repairs made matters worse rather than better. They left rotted wood on my roof, damaged fascia, *****, gutters, paint, security camera, stucco, et al

When we moved into this house 33 years the house had been painted and done correctly so this time around i wanted it done the same way, RIGHT!!! Before the contract was signed there was one to two contacts i.e. meetings (via phone, and or in person). the dates prior to the contract is not exact but the contract date 10/26/2022. The person that I (Boss) had the verbal agreement with to paint the entire house including the doors and windows, said to me they would be doing the doors but in the contract it only says they would do the trim. Yet they did paint all doors and windows but not a full 90 days had past before the rust started bleeding through the paint. I reached out to ask if they could have someone come out in 12/2022 , they also tried to get me to sign a statement of completion and I would not I told them the job was incomplete. Long story short when they came out for the 4th or 5th time the man started to fix the problem and than out of the blue pack up his truck and told me (Boss) that there was a misunderstanding and he needed to speak with his manager. At that point I had been asking for them to fix the problem from 12/2022 till now 08/2023, with all conversations being misleading and unresolved. I did reach out to get estimates for fixing the doors and windows and was give a price for a rough estimate of $6,800. The contract and our verbal agreement are very different. In total the cost of $16,499 was supposed to include all doors and windows not just trim or frames. The rust has bled through the windows and door so bad that it is aesthetically unappealing. What I understand is this the materials that was used is the not the right stuff to prevent from rust for a prolonged period of time and the lifetime warranty that was given is as good as a blink paper. conversations and text from 12/2022, 01/2023,02/2023, 03/2023,05/1/2023,05/08/2023. Enclosed are pictures that I sent to Efficient construction rep and contract and warranty.

In response to complaint # ******** Mr. **** ******** Efficient Construction was contracted to do Exterior and Trim of the home only. We do not have a record of ** painting any doors. The reason we do not paint the doors is because it will rust. So we do not paint doors because they are metal our paint is not for metal. And only the tram you still did the entirety of the doors and windows. And they all still rested including the trim. When I asked specifically for weather proofing materials that you did not use. And you put in contract that you were going to use, so please rectify the situation. Thank you!

On 6/2/2023, we signed a contract with Efficient Construction for a new roof. On 6/12/2023 construction began. After a couple of material delays, the protect was completed on 6/22/2023. On 6/21/2023 our toilet stopped working. After 3 visits from a plumber and a new toilet, it was determined the roof construction was at fault. A pipe was dropped into our vent from the roof causing it to block. We spent $1075.06 to fix everything. On 7/3/2023, we informed Efficient Construction and also provided pictures of the damage. We were told we would be reimbursed. 7/7/2023 I requested an updated and was contacted on 7/10/2023 informing me I would receive the reimbursement (along with the roof warranty, which is why we chose this company) for everything on Friday, 7/14/2023. We did not and were also not provided with an update. On 7/17/2023 I requested an update and told that it was mailed out on Friday, 7/14/2023 after all but they would confirm. I was never updated with a confirmation so on 7/19/2023 I reached out again and was told they thought it was taken care of and that it was actually mailed out on Monday, 7/17/2023 but they would get more details and get back to me. On Monday, 7/24/2023 I had still not received our reimbursement and the warranty. I contacted on 7/24/2023 Efficient Construction and was not answered. I was able to get ahold of a lady named *****, she attempted to help me but couldnt see anything on her end due to not having access to our file. As of 7/27/2023, we have no resolution.
