on 9/12/2023 I lost my keys and called for help getting inside my apartment. Asked for an estimate several times. The dispatcher on the phone said 45$ service fee and there may be additional costs depending on the job. I was assured that the technician would provide an official estimate on site. He did not. He began work rapidly before I could properly assess the situation. He unlocked my door within 2 minutes using air wedge, easy job. But then gave me an invoice charging 230$, way more than expected. The ** invoice they will give you after the service is really just them sizing you up and seeing how much they might be able to squeeze out of you. Zero rationale for why this job costs so much and why they can't provide an estimate up front, despite promising they will. AVOID.They appear legit and act friendly, but they are calculated in how they take advantage of people. Their 5 star reviews are fake. Almost all users leaving 5 star reviews have only one ****** review to their name. Users with more have reviewed other KeyExpress locations across the country. This has been flagged on multiple sites, see here -- ********************************************************************************* I called to follow up about how I was being misled, the operator accused me of threatening him with a bad review. He then attacked my character, saying that I probably do this over and over with other businesses, before hanging up on me.Initial Complaint

Yale KeyExpress was hired to change locks. Service was rendered, but technician left uncomfortable feeling with us. We called Lowes at ****************************************************, as the business claimed to run out of that establishment - per details on GoogleMaps. ***** has never heard of this business and confirmed in fact no locksmith ran out of the establishment. We tried calling back number provided and were hung up on. We have been unable to locate a business license and further, realized that the phone number on the invoice provided - ************ - was not the number called to book the services. Called that number and was again hung up. Looked closer at website and realized that ************************* had no noted vendors per the site - all in *******/Tacoma area. Called the 800 number listed on the website and the operator was able to look up my call and confirm it came through their company, but when I requested confirmation of a business license and asked questions about the vendor. . . you guessed it, hung up on. I hope that someone can confirm whether or not the various Yale KeyExpress operators are legitimate in the hope of saving others the worry that they have been scammed and feeling that their safety and belonging are at risk - not to mention the time, money and effort to remedy the situation.
