Purchased a new AC unit on 13 April 2022 with Cyprus Air Heatjng and Cooling, ***************************************** to improve efficiency in my home. Nothing was wrong with current unit. On April 20th they came to do measurements and ensure everything was ok for install. On 5 May Cyprus air arrived and removed my old unit then proceeded to tell me the furnace I ordered 110,000BTU would not fit. But they had a 90,000 BTU that would fit offering me $150 for my trouble stating it would work fine for 3200 sq ft. After 2 hours of research and talking with other contractors I declined the 90,000 BTU and restated I wanted the 110. As it turns out they never had the correct size on site and just left. Now I am sitting in my home with 3 kids (1 year old, 4 year old and 7 year old) with no unit to keep my family warm. I am disgusted at how I was lied to and now they put my family in harm for their mistake.

It is about our air conditioning issue we have been dealing with. We have contract with a home services insurance named "****************l" and they work with this contractor "Just One Call" which were supposed to fix the air conditioning. They charged us twice for the amounts of $**** and $**** since last year to fix air conditioner and it stopped working just a few days after each of these 2 services. Every time we had to call them many times and stay on hold for hours and wait several weeks for their service! When they came and checked the air conditioner recently after a few months that we had reported the issue, they diagnosed that the compressor needs to be replaced and the air conditioning manufacturer provided them with a new compressor with no fee as defected one was new and had warranty. Although the ***************** insurance covered the labor cost, the "Just One Call" charged us for $**** for the second time since last year to fix it. As it was getting cold we had to pay the fee to resolve the issue. They came and replaced the compressor. However, the air conditioner stopped working again after a few days and lots of smoke and freon gas came inside the unit and my mom who was with her newborn grandson panicked since they were inhaling lots of this chemical gas and then she had to run and stay outside for a few hours in cold with the baby. After several calls and emails, Just One Call asked for another **** to fix the air conditioning problem again! This is the third time they try to charge us without fixing the issue! My mom is so frustrated by them and has been living in a cold apartment for a long time while she has paid $****. She disputed the recent $**** with the bank but they need proof to refund the money. Please kindly help us with this problem. Thanks.

Business Response /* (****, 5, 2021/12/10) */ Contact Name and Title: ****************** Contact Phone: ************ Contact Email: ******************* In October 2020 we replaced your condenser on the roof through ******************************* because it was burned out. You called us back again 9 months later in July 2021 to inspect the new issue which turned out to be a burned out compressor. Finally in October 2021 ******** approved the replacement of the compressor. Since it was under manufacturer's warranty, their policy is to only pay for the labor cost and nothing else. It is not up to us what your insurance company decides to cover or not. Every repair has it's own price and ******** decides which of the costs they will cover based on the policy you have with them. We have no control over this. The $**** you paid was a discounted price. The original was $****. Finally in November 2021 it was found that your indoor air handler had a leak and needed to be replaced. Once again, we provided our prices to ******** to replace the unit and they determined that the non-covered costs are $****. Once again we gave you a courtesy discount of $525 to do the repairs. We are trying to work with you on this matter. We believe it is in your best interest to take the most cost effective option and proceed with repairs through ******** since they are covering a large portion of the cost to replace your air handler. We cannot foresee all the problems that you could have with your system so we deal with the problems one step at a time as they present themselves. When your old condenser was burned out, we replaced it. You didn't tell us of the new problem again until 9 months later. We wouldn't have known your system had a leak because the first and foremost problem was a burned out compressor which had to be replaced in any circumstance. Even if we had detected the leak at the time, you still would've had to replace your compressor. We cannot issue any refunds for the work performed because there are no failures with the work that we have already done. A new problem does not invalidate or nullify previous repairs. Your HVAC system is extremely old and is at the end of its useful life. Sooner or later all components will have to be replaced. Your system started breaking down in October 2020 through now. Replacing the air handler is the final step to completing all repairs and not worrying about more problems again. Let us know if you'd like to move forward with the replacement of your air handler.
