On 20 February 2020, I originally entered into a repair agreement with Anthony's Auto Detail & Paint to have my passenger side front windshield A-pillar repaired as it was rusting from the inside out. I explained to the owner, "***** Rodriguez" that I wanted metal fabrication performed to remove the rusted metal panel and replace it with a fabricated panel. When I received the car on 27 March 2020 it seemed to be expertly repaired, so I asked him to repaint my entire car. He agreed by quoting me a flat rate of $4000.00 for the entire job. Upon receipt of my repainted vehicle on 01 April 2021, I inspected it and found that the paint job was adequate, but there was no "warranty clause" on the invoice, so I asked the secretary to include it on my invoice. When she printed out a replacement invoice it stated: "Customer has Warranty on Vehicle Refinish". At the time, I didn't notice that the warranty had no description of terms or length of coverage. By September 2021, I discovered that my pinch welds underneath the vehicle were too weak to allow for the car to be lifted even for a tire to be changed, so I found a body shop in Visalia that was willing to do the work. I delivered my vehicle for repairs in November of 2021. By January 21, 2022, the repair shop contacted me about a rust problem they discovered with the windshield A-pillar upon removal of the passenger side front panel. By 09 February 2022, they'd sent me pictures of the rust underneath the A-pillar panel and I was mortified by what I saw, so I forwarded the pictures to "*****" and we later discussed how he would make the situation "right". He suggested refunding half of the repair cost of the A-pillar (approx. $400) and I agreed. Upon receipt of the check on 15 Mar 2022 of $400, I saw a notation at the bottom of the check: "Void warranty Nissan #099261". Since then, ***** has avoided my visits to his shop and never returned my calls or texts regarding my warranty terms and conditions.
