    On 3/17/22 Central Valley Dental Implant & Oral Surgery Institute did extraction of wisdom teeth. On the day of the surgery, I asked if my insurance was going to cover all charges A verbal confirmation was given from staff. On 6/1/22 I received a statement in the mail for $1,117.00. I Contacted the office; at that time, they were rude and informed me that my secondary insurance was the only payment that had covered the procedure. And I would be responsible for the total amount due, I let them know that I was a full-time student and an army reservist and had no means of income, the associate then told me to get a job to pay off the balance. Following that call myself and my mother went to the dental office in and spoke to ******, she told me that the insurance was ran and ********* my coverage had denied the payment, she told to call United ********* directly to see if a retro on the payment. After leaving I called United ********* and spoke to ***** a representative in which she informed me that the dental office didn’t try to process the claim till May 12 prior to that the dental office had not ran or verified eligibility. So the claim was rejected since the insurance wasn’t going to be active till April 1, 2022. I give a call back to ****** from the dental informing her of my conversation with ***** and she said that I was liable for the amount because I had signed for consent, I insisted that due to the incompetence on their part for not running my insurance before the procedure occurred I should not be liable for their mistake. ****** let me know that she would speak to the doctor about the issue and would give me a call back. When she called back the following week, she mentioned that only a ten percent from the amount was going to be deducted. I agreed with the $900.00 so they wouldn't send me to collection I am reaching out, so you can determination if I was taken advantage off, since all they had to do was tell me my insurance was not active. Please help!
