  Within the past month I paid went to Hayward flight for a free orientation. I went through on what they could offer me with a flight instructor *******************************. He told me things he and they're program could offer me along the lines of setting me up with instructional videos online, other ways to find how to complete the groundwork on my own and then said that I would be able to go into the flight part of getting my PPL with them. I then went and signed a contract with ************************* and also mentioned to him that I was trying to get as much done with in the next month and that I wanted to do most of the work on my own for the ground/written part. He understood and said that ******* should be able to assist me but that there is no way finish the program within a month. I said that's okay as long as I could get as most done as possible and if I didn't finish off the rest would be able to get a refund. He did not mention any issue with this, but within the Contract he has sent it states there are no refunds, It appears I wrote my name on top of the document but does not look signed. But I was also going on the verbal agreements that we had. I have contacted them recently and got the roundabout with ****. Instead of trying to fix the issue with *******, he just would turn it into how I needed to buy their books and that's what they had offered. Then instead of talking about a refund he just kept saying for me to look at the contract and circle backed to either a new instructor or buying their books. I am looking for a full refund of the 5 grand I paid them and some sort of resolution that no one else has to go through what I have gone through.

  I am rejecting this response because: I had clearly stated while discussing situation with **** that I was on time crunch (as I was moving out of Hayward) and might not be able to finish and he did not mention anything about non refundable. If he had I would have waited to join a school that was closer to my relocation. As well neither the flight instructor nor **** mentioned it was necessary to buy there books but the after I paid both said I would not be to do there course without the books. As well I was inrush when signing any paperwork. I was relying on **** to translate the documents. At this point they are holding up my education and advancement toward a flight pilot career due to the verbal promises they have not completed and not issuing me a basic refund so I could attend another flight school. 

  And a new instructor would not solve the issue of what I was told they could offer (e.g online resources to educate myself and classes to get me in the plane ASAP.) instead the classes they now describe are to follow the ******* book and thats it.
