Date of transaction 03/08/2023 Amount of money business invoiced: $551.00 What the business committed to provide: Fill my propane tank with 150 gal at $3.49 a gallon What the nature of dispute is: My tank is 250 gal. I took a picture of the tank fill percentage on 03/07/2023. It was at 20 percent, indicating I still had 50 gallons of propane. SoCal Propane came out 03/09/2023. I asked them to fill my tank with 150 gallons of propane, which would bring the level up to 80 percent. SoCal Propane had me sign an invoice, the invoice says the tank percentage was at zero. (it was at 20 percent) I went out and took a picture of the tank picture after they left and the tank percentage is at 60 percent, meaning they only put 100 gallons in, but charged me for 150. So Cal Propane overcharged me by $174.00 and my tank is only at 60 percent, which will not carry me through the winter. On top of over billing me for 50 gallons and not filling the tank to 80 percent, the office staff *****, tried to price gouge me telling me I needed to rent the tank for $120 when in fact the owner of this rental had already paid the tank rental. As well, she quoted me $4.59 per gallon of propane when they were running a "new customer special" for March for $3.49 a gallon. They finally agreed to charge $3.49 a gallon, but overbilled me for 50 gallons. (picture of March special attached) Whether or not the business has tried to resolve the problem: I have emailed the business telling them to revise the invoice. I am concerned they are cheating other customers out of hundreds of dollars as most people don't take the time or effort to go out and look at the tank fill percentage on their propane tank. But I did. It is important to note if the tank percentage was at zero, as the SoCal Propane technician falsely wrote on the invoice, my heat, water heater, dryer, and gas stove wouldn't be working!
