I placed an order in May 03, ********************************************* the back part of the home. Excited to finally hear in early July that the order was ready to be installed, mind you, I had to call several times to figure out time frames. The back patio gets installed on July 26, 2023, 1st problem noticed, the polls were off from where I had requested them to be about 3-4 inches. I was willing to be flexible, they offered a discount which I agreed. The job gets completed and more problems were seen. The cover was ordered to cover the patio completely but they took wrong measurements and it was short. I was not happy as the purpose of the patio cover was to cover the deck completely. They acknowledge the mistake as they accepted that their guy took wrong measurement and parts were ordered short. After some talks I was unhappy so they agreed that since it could not be repair they would remove it because it could not be fix and replace it with the agreement that I would pay the full amount. Fair of course I was in agreement. I paid them for the work even knowing that they did not deliver what I wanted and with a good faith through they would through. It is October 5, 2023, and here I am no response, no follow up, no answer, no text. They need to take responsibility and follow through with their word. I have texts were he agreed to repair the patio. I am a hard working single mother who paid even though the work was done wrong and he was trying to force me to accept something that I did not order. All I want is for them to take responsibility and stop taking advantage of individuals as myself. This was not my mistake, I hired them so that they could measure and deliver correctly. It was not my duty to measure for them as they were trying to say (did you tell the guy) of course I told him what I wanted.

Dear BBB, my name is ****** ****** and I would like to file a complaint against RL Granados Concrete Specialists and Awnings in *******, Ca. The owner is ******* ** ******** and I received an estimate for a self-standing BBQ island cover with 4 posts, 4 recessed lights, 1 fan, 1 light switch, and a 3" insulated roof made out of Alumawood. The salesman's name is **** ********. The initial estimate was $6900. I agreed to hire them so I gave a $300 deposit to start the process. When I finally received the contract, I noticed it did not include a 3" insulated roof, but instead, a non-insulated roof. That was not the agreement when I gave my $300 deposit. Mr. ******** said the correct price for an insulated roof would be $7800. That's a $900 dollar price difference. My wife and I discussed the price increase and agreed to pay the $7800. I then decided to add 2 outlets to the cover. Therefore, I called Mr. ******** to request an updated quote and he said it would now increase to $8240. So, by this point, we are committed to this project, and, once again, agreed to the price increase to add the outlets. I now sign a 3rd revised contract for the amount of $8240 but after not hearing from Mr. ********* for over a month, I come to find out that he never placed the order and was told hat the project would now cost $11,300 due to having to reverse-engineer the cover and add 4 steel posts. This is outrageous! This is clearly bait and switch so I refused to move forward with the project and requested my $300 deposit.. After 2 months of trying to retrieve my deposit, I received numerous rude and unprofessional texts from Mr. ********(saved on phone) and was finally only reimbursed $241.77 on 2/9/23. This company is clearly not honest and very misleading. They need to be investigated and/or have their license revoked. BTW, I hired a different company and they only charged me $7500 and the whole process went smoothly without any price gouging. Thank you.

Mr. ****** requested a design for a custom built patio cover for his backyard. An engineer was sent to Mr. ******** home to measure and design we discovered that the rear wall behind Mr. ******** bar was only 25 inches from the rear wall property line code calls for 5 feet, we spent many many hours designing the cover to meet Mr. ******** desires. Every time we had a design Mr. ****** would change it and constantly complained about the budget and how he didn’t have any money, and how we had to do everything possible to save every penny possible  we attempted to do this showing Mr. ****** numerous designs. We even designed special metal plates to go behind the television wall that we could attach the cover to. We contracted with Mr. ****** and he continued to change the design time after time after time when he refers to the time delay, it’s because he kept changing the design , we are in the business of building custom patios and concrete been in business for 52 years. Never a complaint until now we’re quite surprised at this nonetheless, we tried to meet Mr. ******** needs ultimately after signing a contract with us. He changed the design, at least six or seven times more, making it longer making it shorter and then  Change the material. He came back to us and told us that he wanted insulated panels as opposed to not insulated panels. We are very exact when we meet with the client as cost is always an important factor. We showed him the material both insulated and non-and he chose non-insulated , we are in the business of selling material if Mr. ****** would’ve wanted insulated from the beginning, we would’ve certainly given it to him we would’ve made more money so his claim of beating switch is completely ridiculous after his last of his numerous changes and complaints and it came to us that he wanted insulated panels. We reworked the estimate for him unfortunately our pricing for the way we designed it with custom brackets and now the insulated material was considerably higher  Than what Mr. ****** wanted to pay he called me numerous times constantly complaining could we lower the price that he didn’t have any money etc. etc. etc. we suggested that he go back to the contractor that built his original cover and was familiar with Mr. ****** and check with him and his design  Well lo and behold his contractor was able to come in and build his version of Mr. ******** cover for I believe 7500 or $8000 so of course Mr. ****** immediately calls and besides the curse of language and the rude attitude demanded a refund for his $300 deposit  we submitted it as per our company protocol and we’re waiting for engineering to sign it off that finally happened. I don’t know the reason why it came out to $251, my understanding was there was an expense for the plates that were specially designed for him  Extra sets of engineering and plans that ultimately were close to $1500. I’m surprised that we haven’t sued him yet for the 1500 it’s not our intent to behave like this in a business world. We have a stellar record thousands of installs and no complaints I’m sorry that Mr. ****** is upset over his $50. If that’s what it takes to solve his issue I’d be more than happy to submit the request. Quite honestly we feel that Mr. ****** owes us close to 1500 for our design and engineering so far  And the signed executed contract that we have from him. We have not charged him a restocking fee a design fee nothing for the 200+ hours that were spent on his project if Mr. ****** is so upset over using our time using our resources, constantly complaining changing his design every other day  Weeks between phone calls trying to get him to call us back and this is what he does is to file a complaint for his $50. I’d be more than happy to pay him whatever it is apparently he’s very very desperate for money. We prefer that he not continue to call and harass people at our company as he had been doing in the past one day he called I believe it was shot seven or eight times within a 6070 minute period on a Friday demanding to speak with someone regarding his refund I got on the phone tried to discuss it with them, I believe Mr. ****** had been drinking as he was slurring, his words very belligerent and swearing at myself, and anybody else in our company. We are glad that Mr. ****** was able to go back to his original contractor as per our suggestion achieve his result of getting his patio cover built within the budget that he had to work with, as far as his claims against our company, we strongly disagree and deny any of Mr. ******** allegations. Please advise what we can do to stop Mr. ****** and his activities. Thank you very much **** ********.
