My wedding dress was turned into this establishment to be cleaned and they gave me the wrong wedding dress in return. Upon attempting to rectify the mistake, they told me its my problem, were extremely rude, will not try and see who has the actual wedding dress and told me if I go to court Ill lose anyway and now refuse to talk to me or find my dress. They are rude, insensitive and unprofessional and now a $2000 wedding dress is missing and they will not do anything about it. In addition to it all, they still charged a cleaning fee and will not refund the money. I would like to report to investigate if they are selling items without the consent of the consumer.Business response

To Whom It May ********************************************* am responding to letter mailed to me dated Sep 24, 2022, letter says I must respond within seven days of the date of the letter, but I received this letter on Saturday October 1st.
Just to give you a background about our business. I have been in that location doing same thing for over 30 years serving the area. I know most of my customers personally. On Aug 28th, a lady brought a wedding dress to clean and asked for quick return in 2 days for her daughter pictures . We cleaned the dress and returned it on Aug 31st we always show the dress to customer before she picked up. On Sep 17th I received a call from the lady's daughter claiming her dress was changed. I explained to her our process, but she insisted that her dress was changed, In those two days, two days prior and 3 days after I did not clean any wedding dress so there is 0 chance of mix **** I explained to her there is no way that it happened in our cleaner because we didnt have any other dress over and over, same day she sent a family member and I let that person look all over my business to see that I am not holding any wedding dress. on the way out she told me this will cost you some money before it goes away. After that, their entire family or friends that never did business with me posted nasty reviews about my business online. There are six families living of this business I am not going to kill 35 years of reputation over a used dress. My customers bring me bags that cost 10 times more than that dress to clean. I am going to sick legal advice for defamation and punitive damages because these thugs want nothing but to get as much money as they can from me for their bogus claim. This is extortion and will hurt me and my employees in these tough times. I am asking you to come in and check my store and all the receipt to see there was no other wedding dress only their dress in my business at that time. You are welcome to call each and every customer I have, to verify that I am hard working and honest person.

Calling me a thug and extortionist is unacceptable and unprofessional. NEVER has anyone asked for any money, simply to find the dress and return the mistaken dress to its rightful owner. I have pictures of my wedding day to verify the dress and to sit there and claim they have dresses that cost way more than my dress and then turn around and state they have no wedding dresses there and therefore could never make a mistake is ironic. I want NOTHING, NOT A DIME from them. I just want my wedding dress that was entrusted to them. She has been nothing but rude and unprofessional and its Funny that she claims she would gladly call her customers for reviews but SCREAMED at me and my mom that she refuses to call a single person because she could never be wrong and its our fault. She has threatened me with lawsuits and keeps calling me an extortionist. I simply want my wedding dress back which I have told her time and time again. I have acknowledged her business and that I respect her and her familys business and just want my dress back, as Im sure she herself or her own children would be upset as well if their dress was lost. My dress *** not have been worth anything to her but its memories I can not get back and it makes me sick to think her pride and ego prevents her from being a good business owner. ***** on her and her business when all that was asked was to find the missing dress and return the dress that was received in error to its rightful owner. A service was paid and if you ever get a chance to speak to this business owner in person, I pray you see her true colors and how she handles her customers and the the way she talks to them. Its horrendous. I have included some of my wedding photos to show a long sleeved, open back dress and the dress given in error which is spaghetti strapped with cross back. Mistakes happen, but being unwilling to correct an error or even be empathetic is just bad business and bad human decency.
