I installed new wheels on our truck June 23. I purchased the truck new 2+ years ago and have done no other modifications underneath the truck and have had no other issues relating to brakes until swapping the *** wheels for aftermarket. Shortly after having the new wheels mounted at Discount Tire, we began to notice buffeting of the entire vehicle, only when braking. I took the truck to our local GM dealership for a brake inspection and they informed me all four brake rotors were excessively damaged due to overheating, with heat marks all around the rotors and all rotors need to be replaced, approximately $2,000. They suggested I immediately remove the wheels, explicitly stating that was the direct cause of the overheat as the wheels have no means for ventilation in their design (i.e. there are no holes).I called Black Rhino and was informed they had no information on any such condition affecting brakes, and they said I could start a warranty claim through Discount Tire (the installer). I spoke with Discount Tire, who then contacted TSW Alloy Wheels. TSW Alloy Wheels responded they are not at fault.The fault either lies with GM, or Black Rhino, and since this issue started almost immediately after install of the new wheels, and there are no other modifications to the truck which would affect brakes, and I have never come close to meeting the **** of the vehicle, it has to be the wheels, thats the only variable. The timing of this issue directly correlates to the install of the wheels. As it would be challenging to prove such in a court of law, without comprehensive performance and engineering tests, and the average consumer doesnt have the resources to conduct such research, without significant legal and financial support, I am seeking resolve via the BBB.I seek reimbursement from Black Rhino for the purchase price of the wheels, as well as compensation for the warped rotors and other possible damage due to their wheel design (i.e. brake calipers and pads).
