On 7/18/24 went to beach eye medical group in ********** Beach ca. when I set appt for exam. Whet to exam only to get a diabetic exam and they would do the vision exam. But they refused to do the vision exam. They questioned me about insurance and then tried to scare me by saying if they do the vision text I could be charged thousands of dollars before they even checked the insurance. Ive always done both exams at same time. But this place just wanted me to pay for 2 copayments. And the nurse who took me back never asked me what I needed nor did the front office. It was a waste of time because I need new lenses for my glasses. I refuse to pay 2 coypays when both exams should have been done together. I did not pay them because they did not finish exams. And should not be payed by my insurance. I have all the insurance I need for these exams and dont appreciate being treated like I dont have insurance and cant pay for my medical care.Business response

Hi,
I wanted to respond to the notice we received dated 7/26/24 regarding patient ***********************. She came in with a complaint of a scratchy, foreign body sensation in her eye. The doctor discussed the issue of dry eyes with her and provided recommendations. The doctor also offered to refer her to ****************, our optometrist, for a glasses prescription, but she declined. I took out a credit line with ***** ********** in approximately March of 2023 to finance a medical procedure with Beach Eye Medical Group. On March 29, 2023, Beach Eye Medical Group charged my ***** Fargo credit line $3675 for a medical procedure. However no itemized bill was ever provided to me. On May 24, 2023 Beach Eye Medical Group billed my ***** Fargo credit line for a "surgery" in the amount of $1900 and again I was not provided with an itemized bill. More importantly, I did not have surgery on May 24, 2023. I have made numerous calls to Beach Eye Medical group requesting itemized bills to show the charges made to my ***** Fargo Credit account. I need these itemized bills for purposes of filing my 2023 income tax returns.Business response

I have attempted to contact this patient several times, but we kept missing each other. I have all the operative reports for this patient and he has had three surgeries in 2023. This patient is responsible for these charges.
Please contact me and I will be happy to provide these when the patient signs a Medical Releas form as to not have any HIPAA vio;ations.
I will contact the patient again.
