First off, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND SOCALCARS, and here's why:I am writing this review to inform other customers about SoCalCars' unprofessional and illegal business practices. My partner and I financed a car from them last year. Without our consent they ran multiple hard inquires on my partner's credit account. Also, their contract was illegal as they said there was a no cancellation policy when ** law states otherwise. You legally are allowed a 2-day cooling off period in CA to return your car if anything were to happen within that time frame. Another red flag was when they mentioned the down payment was non-refundable when it legally is if anything were to happen.The sent us hard inquires from financing companies that we did NOT work with at all which negatively affected my partner's credit.SoCalCars and those companies sent us SCAM letters saying that our car loan was not approved when it already was and in the letters it stated that we had to return their place of business and renegotiate different terms for our car loan, which is considered a yoyo scam/spot delivery and is VERY MUCH ILLEGAL in many states. They were basically trying to SCAM us into paying a higher interest rate and a higher overall amount for our car when we did not need to.From our experience with them, we have found they are liars, greedy, untrustworthy, dishonest, and unkind people. ****** is the manager and ***** is the admin that has been working with him for years. The whole team was in it together to hurt people who just want to buy a car cause we need one. Do yourself a HUGE FAVOR by staying away from this place and warn others about it. No one deserves to be scammed into paying more for a car, especially when the terms were already agreed upon.

When customers come in for finance we fill out a credit application that you as a customer provide info for, revise, and sign.The application states the following In the following sentence, the applicant / co-applicant is referred to as I and the creditor is referred to as you and your. I, the undersigned, (1) make the above representations, which are certified correct, for the purpose of securing credit; (2) authorize financial institutions to obtain consumer credit reports on me periodically and take other employment history as they consider necessary and appropriate; (3)authorize your affiliates to obtain consumer credit reports on me; (4) UNLESS THE FOLLOWING CHECKBOX IS MARKED, I AUTHORIZE THE DEALERS ASSIGNEE TO SHARE AND USE INFORMATION ABOUT ME, INCLUDING INFORMATION IN MY APPLICATION, WITH OTHER ENTITIES THAT ARE RELATED TO IT BY A COMMON OWNERSHIP OR AFFILIATED WITH IT BY COMMON CONTROL. IF THE CHECKBOX IS MARKED, I DIRECT THE DEALERS ASSIGNEE NOT TO GIVE INFORMATION TO SUCH ENTITIES (OTHER THAN INFORMATION ON ITS OWN TRANSACTIONS AND EXPERIENCES.); (5) Understand, that you or any financial institution to whom it is submitted will retain this application whether or not it is approved, and that it is the applicants responsibility to notify the creditor of any changes of name, address or employment.  We dont run credit unless this is completed,meaning your partner in fact signed an application allowing us to run credit and submit to finance companies.
The letters you received were not scam letters, but the finance companies that declined to finance you are required by law to send you an adverse action letter. This letter states that they were not able to finance you based on the credit. The finance companies approved based on what your application states if they verify different they have the right to decline. We didnt scam you into paying higher interest, thats simply what the finance company approved based on credit and information they verified.
