I wanted to use my gift card for on a purchase in store. the employe informed me that my gift card would not be honored because is was from 2021 and their policy is that gift cards are only good for 21 days. the store has no such policy posted, the recipe nor the card have that policy in writing.I am also not aware of girt cards expiring due to the card act. I tried to resolve the with the store but no one called me back.Business response

Sabrak boutique policy is 1 year to use store credit, unfortunately our systems are only able to capture a year of hosting gift cards. It is posted throughout store and advised at purchasing. Customer has not spoken with us about this concern.Initial Complaint

I shopped at Sabrak boutique multiple times in the month of September and October to prepare for my birthday and my daughters birthday in October. I returned an item to the store, along with other items, and shopped around for things to purchase. I purchased two swimsuits and took the remaining balance of $63.75 as store credit. I was issued the store credit in the form of a gift card on 10/23. I received an email on 10/23 as confirmation, acknowledging the credit in the form of a gift card, for the amount of $63.75. Today, 11/4, I went to redeem my gift card in the boutique only to be told, the cashier made a mistake and should not have returned your item, we have taken back the credit. We kept your item under the counter. You can have your item back and you can no longer used the store credit, we have already voided your credit. I was told. the item was returned after 7 days and the cashier made a mistake so we had to void your store credit. To my surprise! I was not reminded of the policy at the register and the cashier completed the purchase return and issued the store credit. I explained that my items were accepted and my credit was issued and that I had the email to show my card having a balance of $63.75. How was the balance cleared and I not made aware? According to their system the cashier called me, however my phone records show no call, message, or text. Can a business void your store credit without informing you as a customer? I have no desire for the outfit originally purchased, it was returned and I received a credit. Id like to keep my credit NOT the outfit that I no longer want or need. Can I be forced to keep an item after I returned the item if I no longer want it and I was under the impression I received a store credit? Can a store void my credit leagally AFTER they have issued me the credit? Are the mistakes of an employee employees by the boutique my responsibility financially after a transaction has been completed?Business response

The client has been refunded and please ask them to not return to the store. Item was returned over 20 days beyond return date. System is designed to not allowed returns after time frame. Therefore kicking out credit.. our system on screen stated expired immediately after purchase. ***** also took back item and now has been refunded.
