I was staying at LAX Stadium Inn. On Wednesday, April 26, while getting dressed for work I lost my balance and tried to brace my fall with the mirror. The mirror was very fragile and cracked immediately. I left without informing the front desk as I rushed out so that I didnt miss the bus. Upon my return, I spoke with the attendant who stated that the cost for the mirror will be taken from my CASH deposit of $100. I said thats a lot of money for a cheap mirror, can I go buy one instead the male attendant stated were not putting a mirror you bought in our room. I asked if I could speak to a manager about this. He said there is no manager. I said yes there is, Ill come back when youre not here. I never attempted to speak to any one else about the matter. On Thursday, April 27, I extended my stay online. Later that night around 8:30pm a note was placed on the room door addressing room 300, which is the room I was staying saying I cannot extend my stay. The current reservation has been canceled and I will no longer be allowed to rent a room from the motel. I was instructed to have my things out on Friday, April 28 by 11am. Failure to do so will be trespassing. I complied. Several days later, I checked my credit card transactions when I noticed a $100 charge posted on 4/27/23, by LAX Stadium Inn. On 5/3/2023, I called the motel and spoke to the guy initially involved in the conversation about the mirror. I explained my issue. He stated the charge is for the broken mirror. I stated to him I did not authorize this charge considering the fact **** accepted a $100 CASH deposit and should not have charged my card without informing me of the charge. I inform him that this is theft because they were holding a $100 CASH deposit at the time they charged my card, and they didnt inform me of the charge. The guy started to scream and yell and I told him I was going to report this charge to my credit card company and report this theft to BBB. He hung up the phone.

Guest ************;**** was one of our longer stay guests. She broke our mirror & as I was trying to show my concern she started yelling & would not let me say a word. She wanted to bring people from outside to fix the broken mirror but I refused. She had a credit card deposit on file & $100 cash deposit from previous reservation,. so I charged the deposit was on file which was cc. & gave her the cash deposit back. She did not say anything . I did let her know before that we will charge her deposit . I tried to handle this case as calmly as possible but the guest seemed not too happy about i

I am rejecting this response because:

Because the responder is lying. I was never irate with him. I let him fully explain his angle. I did not state I wanted to bring someone from outside onto their property to fix the mirror. This man did not tell me he was charging my credit card. My credit card is on file because Id just paid for a stay the prior week. I was told since I extend my stay, a cash deposit will suffice, which provided - a cash deposit. I was never told my card will be held for dual security deposit after providing a cash security deposit. The cash security deposit was returned to me the morning I left the establishment which was a Friday. My credit card was charged on a Wednesday. Why didnt they just keep the cash? If they told me they were charging my credit card $100, why didnt he give me the receipt for the charge? This man/ business stole money from my card without my prior knowledge or authorization. And the responder is lying.

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

This business is using unethical illegal sales tactics to lure customers in and the steal the customers money from the security deposit they hold. This hotel lists its property as a ****************** with no fees but then once a guest arrives with pets they wait until the guest checks out and deducts money from the guests deposit claiming that pets are not allowed at the hotel and thus why they deduct money from the deposit. They will not refund the deposit after informing informing that there listing states pet friendly with no fees. Very sneaky and unethical sales tactic.

The complaint is invalid and untrue.  Please check facts before asking us to respond.  All ***** policies are clearly stated on all our sites and if the guest does not read or follow them, we are not responsible for it.  The guest left the room trashed and dirty with dog p*** everywhere.  Guest is lying and there is nothing we need to do on our part because we do not wish to paritcipate in a useless argument.
